i was so happy to surf with Masae-san again! it’s been a year and so many things has happened. one thing is she qualified to surf in the Amateur All Japan Surfing Championships this November! Masae-san will be competing in the Woman’s SUP division in Chiba! ganbatte!!!!
so it was automatic Boot Camp ON! it’s my responsibility to get her in perfect form. perfect form equals perfect scores! just like this Masae-san!
and being that i was a judge before, confidence counts! if you can smile and enjoy the ride like this, you will automatically get an extra point. and this will separate you from the rest of the competition. confidence is huge!
great job Masae-san! i’m cheering for you all the way! hope you get the All Japan SUP championship trophy!
then went for a healthy lunch. the best avocado sandwich in the world!
then went to pick up Nakahodo-san for our foiling lesson. big improvements and longer rides!
i drive by Kakaako a lot and see so many Japanese tourist. lots of crime down here too so please careful. it’s not safe to be walking on the side of the street like this with your bags hanging on your shoulder. you’re a target!
new art, and so beautiful. i love mermaids!
and i also love this kid Mateus. coming home from a long day and seeing his smile brings joy to my life. he’s cute, he’s funny, and he’s going to have a lot of girlfriends. haha.
and Mateus has no fear! you have to see him riding around the park! it’s super cute!!!
All Japan Champion?
How’s my Eyes??? OMG!
yesterday i went for my 1 month 12 days eye checkup. yes, it’s been only that long since i got eye surgery. i was actually scared to see my Doctor because i thought he would scold me. haha.
he walks in, looks at my eye, and says “perfect! EXCEPT, there are stitches i have to remove.” what??? when??? he says “right now! first i will cut the loop of the stitches with a knife, then i will pull it out with a tweezer.” what???? when???? he said “right now, so calm down!!” i started sweating, i started shaking, and i started to freak out! he opened my eye with one hand, and stuck the knife in with the other. i couldn’t believe it!!!
he pulls on the stitch and my eye felt like a string was attached and somebody was trying to pull it out of my socket! it was the freakiest thing ever!!! after he was done, he said “ok, now you can go on with your regular lifestyle.” i had to think about that one? “what? i thought i already was?” haha…
then i went to treat myself to the best look fun soup in the world!
then picked up Nakahodo-san for a foiling lesson. and since Toda-san left today, now it’s my job to make Nakahodo-san foil even better than Toda-san! haha.
took him out to my secret spot so we can have one on one interaction. so no photos out here. then on his last wave, Nakahodo-san caught a wave, lifted the foil, and did his first ever cutback!!! he was so happy! and so was i!
the first thing Nakahodo-san said was “i wish Toda-san was here because i wanted him to see it.” haha… friends or rivals???
when i BBQ oysters, i like to do it myself. the reason is because i like it cooked to perfection.
and i want everybody to eat perfectly cooked oysters. soft, juicy, and tender. ever since high school, it’s been very important to me!
then after everybody had theirs, it’s time for mine! this is how a perfectly cooked oyster should look like. fluffy and juice dripping off…
and the key is to put the whole thing in your mouth. that way you get the muscle and juicy fat all in one bite!
then you savor the moment. swallow it, and say “Oiiiichiiiii!”
can’t wait for Molokai again!!!
