Presidents Mango Smoothie

when i use to have disagreements with people, i’d either fight, or shake hands, or fight and then shake hands.  so yes, i was happy to see shaking of hands rather then bombing each other with nuclear weapons.  i know the world is split on this topic so i’ll just leave it as that.   huge South swell so decided to surf the best spot today.  and that best spot was right around the corner.  no parking in Waikiki on Sunday but we had all the free parking in the world.  and always good because Nao-san loves a new challenge. i pulled up to the yacht club and Toda-san and Takami-san were waiting for me at the gate.  how did they know i was going there?  haha…  well, they are like my family so they know exactly what i’m thinking. we passed by Bowls and it was freaking super good!   got a really good 12 shot sequence of Local Boy Shane.  if anyone knows his number, tell him to call me so i can get him the barreling photos.   bodyboarders having fun too.  as for us, we freaking scored the most perfect wave on the South Shore.  and since it was so big, it was actually uncrowded.  i guess we were lucky again Nao-san!   went to eat at my favorite restaurant in Chinatown.  we were so hungry that i totally forgot to take a photo.  never too late right?  haha… then went to cool off with a fresh mango smoothie.  it was so sweet and refreshing.  it’s mango season so why not eat mango!  i would love to have this every single day this Summer…then we went driving around to see this beautiful South swell do its thing.  watched surfing, and watched the pod of dolphins playing right outside the lineup.

Toda-san flew his drown and got the most amazing footage!  thank you guys for the wonderful day.  you guys must be tired, full, and sunburnt because i sure am.

passed by Diamond Head on the way home and noticed the swell is going down already.  tomorrow will be another wonderful day of surfing.  i can’t wait to see where we’ll end up!

Big South Swell is HERE!!!

Ala Moana Bowls going off!

Rookie Seth Moniz in Gold Coast Raw on WSL

the WSL just put out a video of behind the scenes footage of Seth’s first WCT debut.  it was pretty funny watching it and i actually got tears because it was so special for everyone.  especially special for the people who where there.   how the heck can a kid enter the big leagues and be so confident and calm?  how??? all the memories came right back as watching in person is much different than watching on film.  both so amazing.  it’s moments like this that make friendships even stronger.  coming out of one of the biggest heat in your life and seeing your best friends right there celebrating with you.  priceless… along with the celebrations, comes the nerves.  i haven’t had so many white hair in my life.  haha.   but the kid stole the show!  Seth Moniz was the talk of the town and we loved every minute of hearing it.   Kelia and Tony are some of Seth’s biggest supporters.  we all are.  we feel the happiness, and we feel the sadness.  it’s freaking so emotional!   it was surely something i wouldn’t have wanted to miss.  we where a big supporting group from Hawaii and the whole world must have seen the love in this.   it was a once in a lifetime experience for us all… the funniest part was:  when we pulled up for the contest, we were looking for parking.  then we seen Kelly Slater looking for parking too.  he was actually waiting for a car to pull out so he can park there.  Seth said “11 world titles still won’t get you parking.”  haha!  we were laughing so hard!!!  there were cameras on Kelly, and there were cameras on Seth.  so yeah, you can feel like the media latched on to Seth because of his potential.  this kid will be World Champion someday and i hope to be right there when it happens.  that is my dream and my dreams usually come true.  so yeah, buckle up for the wild ride!
