Moniz: What is Ohana?

Billabong just came out with this beautiful video of the Moniz Family. i just watched it and had so many amazing memories. i laughed, and i cried. Tony was like a big brother to me. he pulled me away from my bad habits growing up as a teenager and pointed me in the right direction. he gave me a surfboard and took me surfing big waves on the North shore every day. it worked as i never looked back. Tammy is my big sister. she’s very loving and very caring. our family didn’t have a great childhood past, but we are surely making it up as adults. one of the most loving person you will ever meet. Micah, Kelia, Isaiah, Joshua, and Seth. these kids are like my own kids. each one of them with their own personality, but all of them with big warm hearts. i’ve been with each of these kids since they were born. and now as they are all fine young adults, i couldn’t be any prouder of them than i could possibly be. this video will be replayed over and over in my heart. it truly represents what a family should be and how the ocean played a big role in their lives. so to Tony, Tammy, and the kids, i’ve always been so happy to hear from people from all over the world praising your lifestyle. i love you guys! this is family, this is ohana…

watch this video and listen carefully to the words. an amazing story…

Good morning 6:20am.
North shore 2-4′ and cleaning up. Pipe Masters probably OFF.
Ala Moana knee high and clean.

Cloudy morning becoming sunny.
Going to jump into the ocean.
Have a wonderful day!

Heart and Jet Crash

thanks for the strong winds, the foiling is very challenging. and challenging is something i love. went out to Diamond Head this morning and had a blast!

no thanks to the strong winds, the waves at the Pipeline Masters were terrible. but because it’s the 5th day into the waiting period, they had to run it. felt sorry for the competitors.

Joshua won his first heat so jumped in the truck, ate a plate lunch while driving, and made it right in time for his quarter final heat.

look behind me as Josh is super focused. and Seth is already in the main event so he’s more relaxed than ever.

Joshua ended up losing. it was so hard to watch and the drive home was so depressing. if i’m feeling this low, i was wondering how Josh must have felt. i know times like this is hard for him, but i know his day will come…

did you hear about that fighter jet crashing today?

that’s so crazy because i pass by here all the time on Mayuki. luckily nobody died…
