Loving the Season

This was the first time I’ve snowboarded with my brother.  From the first run, I couldn’t catch him up.  Once he started from the top, it was full speed ahead for him.  Absolutely no rest as he went on the lift over and over all day long.  I had to take naps in between and when I woke up, I could see him going up and coming down over and over from my hotel room window.   I have no idea where he gets all his energy from.

On most of the runs, it was only us.  No lines, nobody on the lifts, and nobody anywhere.  And best of all, there were absolutely no foreigners.  Just the 2 of us weaving down the mountain feeling so free.  Till this day, I’ve never snowboarded a mountain so empty.  I want to thank Tokura-san for sharing his secret spot with us.  We are already planning for next year.  Can’t wait!

This breakfast from Sukiya for $4.  We love Sukiya!

Then we found this all you can eat yakiniku, sushi, salad, and dessert bar when we pulled off the toll road.  All you can eat for $12 and you have 90 minutes!!!

Oysters are my favorite shellfish!

Traveling in Japan with surfboards isn’t fun.  But the Japanese workers here make it very easy for me.  The service is amazing and they don’t get tipped.  I love this country!

Just the 2 of Us

Late season is my favorite! My brother and I flying down the empty mountains of Japan. Freedom!
