The Shot: Yesterday @ Rock Piles. Toda-san.
Good morning 6am.
Ala Moana waist high and clean.
Diamond Head chest high and windy.
Trade winds at 20mph.
Rain, clouds, sun, and rainbows.
Going surfing.
Have a wonderful day!
Bug Works

started off the morning with a drive out to the east side. wanted to go to the sandy beach drag racing strip. Toda-san barely fitting in the front seat. he had to leave his stomach at home today. haha. and the girls driving on the side took this photo. thanks girls! had a great day drag racing and eating pizza!

then went to surf this afternoon with Hayashi-san. super cool surfer from Toyoma.

we had some pretty empty waves to ourselves and Hayashi-san surfed great!

after a good ride, there is always a good smile!

surfed for 4 hours and was so stoked watching Hayashi-san catch so many good waves!

and the cool thing is Hayashi-san is a volkswagon mechanic and restorer. he has a few VW toys of his own and owns Bug Works in toyama. i can’t wait to go to Toyama and check out his shop! thank you Hayashi-san for the wonderful day of hawaiian style boot camp! and also want to say hello to all my friends at Bouz Surf in Toyama. can’t wait to surf with you guys again at your super secret spot!

surfed till sunset.

the best way to end the best day! good night.
The Longest Rainbow!

had an amazing lunch yesterday. the boys ordered the custom made poke bowls. looked so good!

i’ve been eating too much poke recently so i ordered the salmon belly plate. so delicious!

thanks again Tonooka-san and Watanabe-san!

then we went to wash it down with a refreshing shave ice from waiola.

when i went to pick up Noritsugu-san, i could tell she was very energetic. she had a great energy level that just wouldn’t stop. perfect wave after perfect wave. she wanted to learn how to cutback so after she did her first one of her life, there was no stopping after that.

and yes, it was so beautiful! supposed to have heavy rains yesterday but nothing was heavy at all.

enjoy surfing, enjoy life. this girls first surf in hawaii.

yes, the huge rainbow stuck around for 3 hours. it was the longest one i’ve ever surfed with before.

thank you Noritsugu-san for the amazing afternoon. i can’t believe how much you improved in just one day. keep on surfing and keep on hawaii!
