wow, super good waves this morning at bowls! super uncrowded and super clean. caught so many perfect waves and after an hour, i was totally satisfied! south swell continues!

went to the Red Sea party last night. super stoked to hang out with the coolest family that treats everybody else like family. this is Nakamoto style in kaneohe!

Papa Crow always starts out with a speech. very positive, very touching, and very meaningful. his speech was about friends being like “stars.” the stars in the sky are always shine no matter what. super cool like always. and ate too much like always. omg, the food is always so amazing!

i was super surprised to see the Watanabe-san family there! i met them in palau when the tsunami hit japan on march 11, 2011. in fact, i was returning to my room from the ocean when i peaked through their living room window and saw the tsunami destroy japan in real time. i was in shock, so where they. words can’t describe the feelings we both had. that was then, this is now. almost 5 years later and i meet them in hawaii. they became friends of the Nakamoto family ever since palau. amazing.

i tried two different IPA beers last night. the one on the right was kind of fruity, and the one on the left was kind of dry. super good, and super strong!

6.8% ALC/VOL is pretty high. i drank 3 of these beers last night so it is equivalent to about 9 budweiser lights. yes, i was feeling pretty good!
want to thank the Nakamoto Family for the wonderful time! good food, good friends, good memories. can’t wait to do it again!

Deep Blue: Lucky Day?

yesterday was my lucky day! just so many good things happening all day long. went out in the morning to try to get a big fish. the waves have been big all year so have to go deep to get away from the dirty water and surge. went out to the blue water and shot this fish pretty deep down. been a while since i got a GT. thank you Toda-san for being the perfect boat man!

also got this nice Uku too. yesterday was the perfect diving day! cloudy so no sunburn. and cloudy so the fish couldn’t see my shadow. felt super good, relaxed, and comfortable deep down. it’s weird how i get older and am diving deeper. i guess it’s all mental.

on the way back in, seen a hawaiian monk seal eating a fish! he was on the top chomping down a fish. first time i ever seen that. cool!

want to thank Toda-san and Takami-san for all the wonderful snacks! omg, i’m going to get fat!
