yesterday was one of those days where i didn’t know where to eat lunch. poke? locomoco? pho? ummm, i wasn’t really in the mood for anything. so as i was driving through kapahulu, i saw taco bell! i eat there once a year and yesterday was that once a year.
when i was younger and didn’t care about my health, i use to eat here 2-3 times a week. of course, i’d always eat the cheapest 99 cent bean burrito.
today, i ordered the #1 combo meal which is a burrito supreme, taco supreme, and a huge doctor pepper. i use to drink this big drink and get a refill before i even left. but after 2 sips, i threw it away. yes, i love the taste of soda, but i don’t like what’s it made of. i’m trying to live a healthier life and nothing beats water.
here’s what was in my goodie bag. everything cost $7.50.
everybody in hawaii grows up eating burritos. we all love it. so the first time i went to mexico, i asked for a burrito. not a single mexican knew what a burrito was. there is no such thing as a burrito in mexico. i was shocked!
anyway, after eating this lunch, i didn’t feel satisfied at all. i felt like i just stuck something in my stomach to fill it up. i kind of miss eating tonkatsu, ramen, sushi, bentos, and other great foods in japan.
speaking of japan, i want to thank Maki-san from sending me this photo from hokkaido. i miss the beautiful white snow!!!
well, great weather and waves continue. get out and enjoy it!
What is a Burrito?
Zenbe Stoke!
surfed with the big boys today. Goki-san and Kentaro-san from Nara are the 2 biggest japanese men i’ve ever met. look like hawaiians and have hearts like hawaiians.
i can’t tell you how lucky they are today. the waves, weather, and everything couldn’t have been any better. been surfing with these guys for a few years and we always have fun.
if you came out here this past week, you wouldn’t believe the waves could get like this. it’s like black and white. perfect rights coming in all morning long.
Kentaro-san got some really big and good waves. super athletic guy with great balance.
Goki-san on a big one! 51 years old and probably the strongest 51 year old surfer in the world. bench pressing 145kg and surfing hawaiian waves. awesome!
i’m really starting to like longboarding. just a whole different technique from shortboarding, but still the same feeling when you’re riding.
Kentaro-san on a really good wave! this is flawless surfing. good surfing Kentaro-san and congratulations on your hawaiian wedding day!
i love this photo of Goki-san. not a cloud in the sky with perfect style. and so stoked to be in hawaii! thank you Goki-san and want to say hello to the crew at Zenbe in Nara. hope to visit you someday!
