before i went on my trip, i knew when i came back that everybody was going to be surfed out. i was already surfed out and extremely satisfied. the surf continued and now, the whole island is surfed out, except me. i’m fresh, i’m excited, and want to surf, surf, and surf. went surfing twice and it was totally empty. score!

after gaining all that weight eating excellent food in japan, it’s time for me to lose some by eating healthy and exercising. woke up, did yoga, push-ups, pull-ups, and surfed 2 rounds. good exercise and good surf. here is the start of my day with fresh fruits.

cover it with yogurt, chia seeds, granola, and honey. all organic and all natural. and all good!

then i went for lunch to try out a new healthy sandwich place i heard about. it was amazing! i ordered the avocado sandwich and till this day, it had to be the best sandwich i’ve ever eaten in the world. not only in hawaii, the whole world.

comes with a salad with balsamic vinegar dressing.

so delicious and so healthy. i’m going to go here 3x a week for sure. i forgot the name of the place, but not the location. be back there soon.

now that i’m back home, i can tend to my plants. here is the sudachi and gardenia. everything getting greener and bigger.
super good clean surf continues all week long. good night.
Surf, and Eat Healthy
Avoid Jetlag: Tokyo to Honolulu

wow, japan is getting closer and closer every trip. i got my system so dialed in that it’s pretty easy to avoid jet lag. first, i go get a healthy bento from a department store, then i get on the airplane as soon as possible. eat the bento, drink water, put my earplugs in, my eye mask, and my mouth mask. then recline the seat, put the blanket over me, and tell the flight attendant, “please don’t wake me up until we are about to land.” i fall asleep in 10 minutes, and i’m out like a little baby.

the flight attendant wakes me up 45 minutes before landing. i eat some fruits, drink water, put my things away, and get ready to land.

then i see my beautiful island of oahu. i start to smile, i get excited, and i’m thinking of what to do today. surf, dive, sleep, eat?

i’m usually the first one out of immigrations because i’m the fastest to the front. they ask me the normal questions like “what do you do for work? why such a short trip? are you bringing back more than $10,000? my answers are: photographer, because i love to travel, an “no, i wish.” i get out, jump on the motorcycle, and speed home.

take a 10 minute nap, jump in the truck, and head to the beach. once i ride my first wave, i’m 100% back to normal. perfect waves this evening and loving every sunset moment. feels good to be back in the ocean. anyway, that’s my travel routine and it’s been working pretty good for a while now.

june is huge for the wedding business in hawaii. june bride? that’s the time to get married for japanese people so it’s not unusual to see 8-10 weddings a day here around the island.

and magic island with diamond head in the back is the golden moment for the perfect photo. oh wait! now you have a boat and me holding a camera in the photo too. sorry.

after gaining 10lbs in japan, it’s time to eat healthy again. starting off with handmade soba. thank you Fujiki-san! see you in a few days. waves should be perfect!
