The Octopus Teacher

We’ve been surfing everyday so thought we’d do something different today.  We jumped on the boat and looked for clean water.  Plans were to look for shells and hopefully see a tako.  I explained once to the girls how to look for tako and guess what?  They found the tako houses!

These tako are so smart.  They will wait for the right time and squirt their ink in your face.  Then when you can’t see anything, they will swim away.

This one didn’t outsmart us.  It’s now in my freezer waiting for the special day to enjoy it.

I forgot how much fun it was to free dive.  We all agreed that have to do it more often.

On the way back, we drove by this perfect wave so one girl surfed, and the other took photos.  I was on the boat watching them have  the time of their lives.  They were giggling the whole time.

After just 2 tako dives, this girl has the knowledge of how to find the elusive tako.  It took me 10 years to find my first one so she’s definitely a fast learner.  Congratulations!

Sunday Tako Hunting

Small waves today so we went hunting this morning.  Driving around the ocean looking for clean water.

The 2 amasan divers ready to look for tako.

Mission accomplished.  Big tako and happy amasan’s.  Have a happy Sunday afternoon!
