check out the photos from yesterday.
it’s amazing how the ocean can bring out the best smiles in everyone. Eiji-san and Tazuko-san in glassy clean water paradise.
it’s the first time Tazako-san surfed and after 2 days, she’s paddling out and catching waves all by herself. one amazing strong woman!
Eiji-san on a shortboard. it was also his first time longboarding and he caught some super good waves.
i always like to get this kind of photo. what a great way to share a wave together.
and Eiji-san’s north shore debut. super fun waves at haleiwa yesterday.
good shortboarding style.
then Tazuko-san bodyboarding haleiwa and catching so many waves.
great to see my old time friend Fred Mendiola here in hawaii. Fred lives in guam and takes people surfing and sightseeing. a great guy and a great job!
and Fred’s son ripping already! so stoked for them!
there was a japanese girl surfing pretty good out at haleiwa. seen her on some really nice lefts ripping it all the way in.
and my view on my 11’0 longboard. so easy!

Hawaii 5-0 Shooting
leaving bowls this morning and drove right through the tv shoot. they are filming the last episode of season 4 Hawaii Five-0. all the main characters were there and we got to see them all right in front of me.
the 4 main stars right in front of us. i was going to yell out of my window “Book um Danno!” haha.
after our wonderful morning surf, we went sightseeing around the island. stopped over at some amazing power spots. then passed by haleiwa and the waves looked too good to pass up. so we get the boards out, catch a few waves, and head to Romy’s for the best shrimp in the world.
Mr. and Mrs. Ichikawa-san are very kind surfers from chigasaki. always smiling and always enjoying the ocean. i was so happy to surf with them this past 2 days. thank you both for another day of wonderful experiences!
people thank me all the time for taking them to Romy’s. today, i thanked them for requesting to eat at Romy’s because i love the garlic shrimp there! the best in the world!!!!
as i finished work this evening, i was driving home looking at the beautiful sun setting. and once again, i thought to myself what a wonderful place i live. and also what a wonderful job i have. everyday i’m experiencing new people and new things. i think i’m the luckiest guy on earth!
tomorrow more surfing as spring break continues. going to be very busy but a very good busy. keep warm on this chilly night in hawaii and see you tomorrow in another warm sunny day!
