Begin Concert in Hawaii!!!!

drove down to the beach early this morning and it was ugly! just as i got there, the winds came strong onshore and it started to storm. i sat in the parking lot for 30 minutes debating whether to surf or not. i decided not too. then this afternoon the sun came out, the winds backed down, and the waves got good again. then i went surfing! 3 more weird weather and wind days until the off shore tradewinds come back on sunday. enjoy!

been to some airport that i didn’t know even existed. was looking at my passport and i realized that i’ve been traveling way too much. i’m going to take a break for a while and take it easy. well, i always say that and always get on a plane somewhere. haha.

ever since the malaysian airplane disappeared, i really think it could happen to me someday. the more airplanes i ride, the more chance of bad things happening. and i understand that there is nothing i can do so i just close my eyes and pray for a safe flight. every single time.

before i went to panama, i didn’t know that gambling was legal. so going to a casino was one of the highlights of my trip.

and one night, the showed the Floyd Mayweather fight live. and like always, he won. just too fast and always a step ahead from his competitors. i still remember sitting ring side in las vegas watching his lightning speed.

Evening session!

Travel: Panama Canal

photo 2 copy 2
even though i don’t like going to tourist traps, i had to go to the panama canal. i’m just infatuated with technology, especially if it has to do with water or the ocean. to see the system work right in front of my eyes was amazing!
photo 1 copy
the panama canal is 77.1 kilometers or 48 miles long. the built an artificial lake that is 26 meters or 85′ above sea level in order to have the ships connect from the atlantic ocean to the pacific ocean. if it wasn’t for this canal, shipping trade would have to go all the way around in dangerous conditions. this canal opened all sorts of trade and it is the biggest shipping lane in central america. the system is based purely on nature and tides. i was fascinated!
photo 3 copy
how could people think of a system like this? whoever did is a genius.
photo 4 copy
we went there at the perfect time. we got to see 2 huge ships cross into the pacific ocean.

us amigos. Kyle, Keaka, and Demetrias enjoying the show. such a cool group of guys. gosh did we have fun!

i watched over 15 movies on my long journey. “Into the Wild” was my top 1. and “Captain Phillips” was my second. watching this brave captain stay calm and in control made me wonder what the heck went wrong in south korea? in america, the saying is “a captain must go down with its ship!” in south korea, i’m wondering what the captain was thinking. that’s pretty sad.
