Yamari and Life with Ocean!

photo 1
wanted to welcome Kimura-san and Atsuko-san to hawaii. and want to thank them and the Yamari team for the wonderful gifts!
photo 2
this is super cool! Yamari has a great marketing plan, a great designer, great minds, and great people. the coolest shirasu company in the world producing the best shirasu in the world. YUMMY!

i’m super stoked to get these cool slippers! i use about 10 pairs of slippers per year. i wear them everyday so they either get worn out, or somebody at the beach steals them. if i saw these sitting on the beach, i might steal them too. haha.

7 years ago i took this photo of Renosuke riding his little car in the Yamari factory. now he’s a very smart boy in elementary school. in 10 years, he’ll probably go to college, then be driving real trucks working in the factory. then in 30 years, he’ll be 8th generation boss of Yamari. the next generation of the Yamari Empire.

people ask me if i miss surfing Pipeline. i tell them “no” and this is why.

It's Mango Season!

in our local language, we say “ho, that tree is loaded brah!” in english, that means “the mango tree over there has a lot of fruit.” or another local way would be “ho, choke mangos brah!” haha.
photo 2
this tree near my house has hundreds of mangos that will make many people very happy. and i’m sure a lot of people will come by and steal some too.
photo 3
my lunch today was spicy ahi, shoyu salmon, and hawaiian ahi poke on hot rice. so ono brah!

this morning was glassy. then it got windy onshore around 10am and all day long. then we already knew the winds were going to back off right at sunset time so that’s when we went surfing. Inaida-san told me “wow, it’s glassy!” now you can officially call him a surfer! glassy is where we want to be!
tomorrow i have another long day in the ocean. so happy and so sunburnt. i’ve been out of my house every early morning till late night that i forgot what it looks like. by the time i get home, i take a fast shower, do my fast blog, and go to sleep fast. then wake up at 4am. haha. people say i’m getting old, but i think i’m just too excited to start another day. better get going. sweet dreams!
