wow, the waves came way down but was super fun. did some long boarding with Team INA and had a great time. good to see everybody continue to surf and enjoy this beautiful ocean. i was out in the water today thinking “there’s no place in the world like hawaii.” i’m stoked to be back home! and i’m sure everybody else is too. south swell coming soon. and another tropical storm heading this way too. gotta start packing for my trip tomorrow! another vacation? already? oh yeah!!!!

i was super stoked to see the okinawa boys yesterday at bowls. look in the back of Marin and I and you will see Jack and Fabian. 2 cool surfers i met in okinawa and surfed some epic sessions throughout the years. been a slow year for typhoons so i’m sure the boys where stoked to be in hawaii surfing some good waves. good seeing you boys! and to all my other friends in okinawa, hope to see you soon! miss you guys!

i got the call this morning from Glenn Minami. “hey kirby, your boards are ready.” OMG! i was so stoked! i met him down at the beach and picked up 2 magic boards. Glenn Minami has been shaping for 40 years. he’s shaped for many world champions and many top world pro surfers. a true legend shaper from hawaii that also surfs 15′ haleiwa. single to double concave. this will be my all around board. i’ll introduce my 5’7 diamond tail a little later. first, i want to try this one with the new south swell coming on wednesday.

a 5 fin set up. sometimes i’ll ride it 3 fin, sometimes 4 fin, and sometimes 5 fin. i will never get bored. and yes, i love round pin tails. good for drive off the turns.

Good morning 6:40am.
Small waves today.
Bowls waist high with chest high sets. Clean but inconsistent. 18 surfers out. Diamond Head a little bigger but windy.
Trade winds at 20mph.
Another sunny day.
Going surfing.
