big swell coming friday! tradewinds all week. clouds, sun, rainbow weather. been surfing all day sessions and loving it. meeting cool people, becoming closer to friends, and enjoying life. the dream life continues.
did you know that over 1.5 million people call in sick to work the next day after the super bowl? yes, the super bowl is the most watched sports event in the world. millions of americans are glued to their tv’s on super bowl sunday. i was outside washing my car and could hear all the yelling from all the parties around my house. it was crazy! i ended up watching the second half and it was a great game. people make parties, people drink alcohol, and people get crazy. if you were in the ocean or shopping malls this past sunday, no men where there. 99% of men were drinking with their buddies and nothing else mattered. hangovers galore. i saw a couple of my friends yesterday in the afternoon and they didn’t look too good. no, they didn’t go to work, and no, they weren’t sick. they just had a hangover. haha.
and because it’s the most watched event, the big companies spend millions on advertising. you will see the coolest commercials ever. which was my favorite?
Budweiser was the best. check out this commercial. perfect marketing! makes me want to drink a bud!

Sorry, We're Open
i had another fun day with Tabuchi-san. we decided to dawn patrol the north shore. we checked pipe, backdoor, sunset, and other spots but the wind was onshore and junky. we were almost about to go back to town and surf ala moana. ummm.
but before that, i asked Tabuchi-san if he seen a turtle before. he told me “yeah, i seen a dead one on the beach in shikoku before.” OMG! so i took him to my secret turtle beach and he got a look at a live turtle swimming around. we also seen a whale today at sunset beach. and also dolphins jumping in front of us while we were surfing. gosh, i should start a turtle, whale, and dolphin watching tour. haha. but i pretty know exactly where the are at any given day.
guess where we ended up surfing? haleiwa! it was so beautiful. perfect 2′ waves and not too crowded. that was the best spot today! we scored!
then i came back to town and surfed ala moana with team Inaida-san. surf good waves all day! smile all night!
there is a store near my house. i pass it every single day more than once. do you notice something weird?
Sorry We’re Open? huh? isn’t is supposed to be Sorry We’re Closed? is this a joke or am i the joke?
