Bad Day?

i don’t remember the last time i had such a bad day. maybe 15 years ago? well, it all started out early this morning when i went to my garage to hook my boat up for a dive.

you have to be kidding me???? flat tire? OMG!

luckily i’m such an organized person that i keep a spare of everything. so i grab the spare, change it, and was ready to go.

my grandpa osaki was a fisherman. he use to always tell me never go fishing with oily hands. why? because the fish don’t like the smell of oil. i did my best to wash it off. and it made me realize how much i hate dirty oily hands. and how much i hate flat tires.

we get down to the boat ramp. my sister, tony, kimura-san, atsuko-san were all down there. had a fun talk and took off.

things were looking bright. but my oily hands proved it right. when hayato and kyle were in the water, they saw big fish. but when it was my turn, all i saw were 6 hungry sharks going crazy around me. no big catch today and that’s the part about blue water diving. you either catch a fish that can feed a hundred people, or you don’t. today wasn’t our day. maybe next time? never give up!!!!
and to top it all off, i felt like i was dying when i got back home. from the cold water, from the cold wind, and from not enough water in my body. i still feel pretty junky. goodnight.

Yamari in Hawaii

where did you surf yesterday? some went west, some went north, and most went south. it was super crowded everywhere being a saturday so i decided to head to a secret spot and surf with only a few guys. saw my friend seth mckinney out and had a great chat and surf with him. what a beautiful session surfing such a fun secret wave.

i still think some people have the eye when it comes to taking photos. you either have it or you don’t. take a look at this photo. that’s me paddling out yesterday early morning and either inaida-san or yuki-san took this photo. just by looking at this, you can feel the whole moment. kind of makes you want to be in the photo. i’m just glad it was me because i was feeling excited paddling out as the sun rose to a spot that not too many people know about.

then kimura-san and atsuko-san came to hawaii. and like always, they bring me a cooler full of fresh goodies. my favorite is the yamari shirasu! thank you yamari!

then i went surfing in the evening with kimura-san and hayato. the waves were pretty fun but it was super cold!!!

then yakiniku dinner time. atsuko-san, kimura-san, kinsan, kaishu tanaka, hayato maki, and me eating like hungry surfers. lots of good food, lots of good talk, and lots of good laughing.
still have these north winds so super cool in the morning and evenings. keep warm and keep on surfing!
