ASP DRUG TESTING IN 2012

i’ve had tahitian friends back in the late 1980’s. they were all super nice with plenty of aloha. a lot of people don’t know this, but tahiti is like old hawaii. everybody friendly, everybody happy, and lots of respect. yes, that’s how it use to be here too. i’ll get into that sometime later. anyway, keoni yan(on the left) is born and raised in tahiti. he’s a really kind and sincere kid. in my eyes, keoni has a great arsenal of tricks in his surfing skill. when he takes off, you don’t know what the heck he will do. that’s the kind of surfers i like to watch. and what makes me happy is that keoni, and arri (also from tahiti on the right), are friends with the moniz kids. the more aloha in surfing, the better!

FINALLY!!!!! ever since i started surfing as a professional, i wanted the ASP to implement the drug testing program. why? because it would clean up the surfers image, it would keep kids off drugs, and surfing could finally be respected as a clean professional sport. that being said, the ASP will implement random drug testing in 2012. i’m super happy with that decision! a great move to greater success for surfing athletes.
