every time i pass my garage, i take a peak at my boat. it’s been so long since i gave her some love and attention so i took her down for a fast run to make sure everything is working, and a good wash. didn’t want to waste gas so jumped in and speared dinner. i was stoked that everything is working fine, and stoked that i have some free time next week for some spearfishing adventure. just by pulling out of the harbor for a little while felt so good. so free, and so where i wanted to be.

i wish i could take my boat on every trip i go on. i’d rather have this than a car. this will get me to the places i want to be without all the traffic problems.

every time i come back to the harbor, i use to see a really nice 18′ boat parked in the slot. it is a beauty with 2 brand new 90 hp honda 4-stroke motors. i’d say it’s probably worth $40,000 and was thinking it would be a good next step for me. but after i heard it sank out at diamond head, and after i seen it getting towed back to the ala wai, i was glad it wasn’t my boat. it took 8 guys to finally get this boat back on it’s right side. and it will take about $25,000 to get it back running. and will it sink again? very possible. the guy told me it sank in 10 seconds and they lost everything.

as they pulled it out of the water, all kinds of things were running through my mind. yes, this is a boat owners worst nightmare. it would make a grown man cry. i’m going to be a lot more careful from now on.
