Good Morning June 21, 2011 Surf Report
Spam Burgers, Free Food, and Looking for Abalone.

did you hear about burger king in japan? they are going to start to selling SPAM burgers. yes, really!

what has free diving taught me? it has taught me how to relax, how the ocean works, and how to eat top quality food for free. even though people say there isn’t too many fish in hawaii, i don’t think so. you just have to know where to look, and have to scare the sharks away when they come for your fish.

what would i do if i lost another camera? cry! the other day at bowls, i was taking photos when a perfect head high wave came to me. i took off, held my camera in my hand, and surfed. on the second off the lip, i heard a SNAP, and seen my camera flying 20′ in the air and dropping into the water like a rock. i pulled out, duck dove the next 2 waves. then i used my free diving instinct. i dove down, opened my eyes, and swam around the bottom of the ocean like a seal looking for abalone. i see my camera, i grab it, and i kiss it. lucky me!
