hello. what do i say? what do i do? what am i thinking? oh my
gosh. millions of things running through my mind while i sit here in
palau feeling helpless. we were diving in the middle of the ocean
yesterday when we got word of the earthquake in japan. we rushed as
fast as we could and as soon as i got back, i turned on the tv and
seen something i’ve never seen before. japan, the county i love so
much, pretty much devastated. my friends? family? then the tsunami
heading toward hawaii? are you kidding me? i was glued to the tv
pretty much emotionless. and pretty much feeling helpless. i wanted
to go home.
i’m still lost for information and when i go home tomorrow, i’m hoping
i won’t hear or see any more bad news that i already have. i know
that the worst has yet to come and i just pray for japan. my friends,
family, and people who were lost. what else do you say at a time like
this?
i’m speechless…..
Speechless….
Pray for Japan
I can’t explain how sad I am right now…
good morning from palau
today is day 3 and after all the wonderful fresh sashimi we’ve been eating, i’m feeling a little guilty. are we supposed to be eating thousand dollars worth of sashimi every night? are we supposed to be giving away fish to locals? are we supposed to be enjoying ourselves like this? i feel kind of guilty and can’t help but thinking how it would be if i lived like this everyday. i think i would like it, but i think i would much rather be sharing these experiences with you. no, i can’t put lobster sashimi or tuna sashimi on your table now, but i can show you what it’s been like here in palau.
first, beautiful. i feel like i got off a plane from honolulu to molokai. it’s just like old hawaii with hundreds of more islands. the water is blue, clean, and lots of fish. 2 full days of diving and i want more. the things we seen these past 2 days some people wouldn’t experience in a lifetime.

my job in this trip is to shoot photos, surf, and spear fish. 3 things i love to do! kyle is the videoman and fish holder, KB is the local paluan free diver, and the school of fish is our dinner…. i love this photo because this is the world we are in everyday here…. wanna come?

there is soooo much fish! the only thing is that they are DEEP!!! just to the bottom of the reef is 70-80′ and over the ledge is 150+. if you want fish, you better be able to hold your breath and enter the deep blue world….

and if you are afraid of sharks, palau is just the place for you! just on the first 2 days, i seen 30 hungry sharks waiting for your catch. we expect to see many many more…. on this dive, kyle and i swam down on the biggest hammer head shark i’ve ever seen in my life. i’d say 14′ and 1 ton. when i took this photo, kyle was down 50′ and the shark was down 100′. imagine how big it would be if it was in your face? i wouldn’t want to know….
anyway, i finally got an internet connection so stay tuned for more photos. hope your enjoying your life where ever you are…. cause i sure am….
