2010 Red Sea Ocean Party!!!
good morning. 6:30 am sunday morning. wow, had an awesome time last night. the red sea ocean adventure party was one of the best organized and well planned party i’ve ever been too. everybody was happy, everybody had fun, and everybody took something home. the nakamoto family showed their traditional japanese style with even the kids doing the “banzai.” you couldn’t have asked for anything better. from the food to entertainment, everything first class….
this is just the poke section. my favorites were the miso tako poke, spicy tuna, dried aku, ahi poke, uku poke, and of course, the opihi. this section is like a poke eaters dream. i had 3 big plates full!!!
oh, i forgot. the shoyu ahi poke was really good too…
check out round 1 of 3…
hawaii skin diver host and last nights mc was melinda garma. even if you know her or not, everybody loves merlinda… kyle was smart to choose her as the host for the show because she’s a big reason why a lot of people watch. i remember the first time i was flipping through channels and seen her. i was thinking “wow, who is that?” she catches the viewers eyes, and the divers keep the viewers coming back for more. good combination..
there were raffle tickets for awesome prizes. it was coming to the end and practically everybody won something except hayato and kimura-san. merlinda pulls out the grand prize (crow’s gyotaku), calls the first name, that person wasn’t there. calls the second name, that person wasn’t there. calls the third name, KEIICHI KIMURA. OMG!!! kimura-san won the grand prize!!! score!!! as for hayato? nothing. only people teasing him about the big ulua he missed… 2 x… haha….
*anyway, wanted to thank kyle and the nakamoto family for an awesome time. the party was amazing and i can’t wait to see the photos. let’s keep traveling, keep experiencing, and keep our dreams and many other dreams alive…
*as for the waves. believe it or not, town still has some small fun waves. north shore is coming up and should be 12′ by lunch. the pipe pro should be on. anyway, have a great sunday!!!
Lucky Diver…
good evening. what a great day!! went diving with friends satoshi, kenji, and hayato. the water was pretty dirty so it wasn’t the best conditions. but we got fish, and got to see a lot of turtles and sharks… i gotta get going to the party so i’m going to make this short…
hayato got hooked on diving about 6 years ago and he’s still hooked…
hey kenji, did you get my shot of me riding the turtle? i hope so…
see that big broom fish? that’s called hage in japanese and ever since i ate one sashimi style at an expensive sushi restaurant in japan, i always look for this fish. it’s hard to come by but if i see one, swimming around, my mouth starts to water… yummy…
satoshi has some kind of magic. a long time ago, we went out to kahuku for a dive. i caught so much fish that day and was so stoked. when we all met back up at the beach, he came in with a huge lobster. oh my gosh!!! shock!! and today? he caught the best tasting fish, a nohu….
thanks guys for the great dive day. let’s do it again when the water cleans up. then right after, let’s do a barbecue!! have a great evening….
