A Go-Naminori Day in Chiba…

**good saturday morning. wind is blowing outside. i drove by the beach yesterday around noon and the waves were 2′ and pretty good. then the strong off shore winds blew it down to flat by the evening. weird? well, been getting the emails from my friends in hawaii saying the waves are going off on the south shore. 2-4′ and perfect glassy barrels. thanks guys. you really made my day. now i’m going to drive an hour to the beach, pay $10 to park my car, put on my full wetsuit and boots, surf knee high waves in dirty cold water, then pay $2 for a shower, then drive an hour home. you guys really pissed me off… haha… but i love japan. after you guys surf in town, go eat mcdonalds. i’m going to eat sashimi, miso soup, and rice. how’s that??? have a nice day…. and derek, glad your back in the water surfing. your super stoked again and i can feel it in your emails. pure stoke. keep on surfing!!!
**the other day, i took a few clips in chiba. started off surfing sunrise, then eating a good lunch, then surfing isumi river, then eating an awesome dinner at hayato’s house. check out this menu… liver sashimi, maguro, tako, ika, scallops, yakitori, tempura, tofu, and other goodies. i couldn’t stop eating. thanks hayato and mari-chan for the awesome food. then jasmine and hide picked up kenji and i for our second dinner. went up to her castle for some spaghetti. kenji and i were too full to eat but the spaghetti looked so good. so good that we zuccho, kenji, and i went back to jasmine’s house the next day for lunch. it was such an awesome day in chiba and i’m so happy of all the good friends i have there. always feel welcomed…. thanks everybody for the awesome go-naminori day in chiba. check out this clip….

Tokiwa Takako: Aishiteiru to itte kure….

there was this japanese drama on tv back in 1995 called “Aishiteru To Itte Kure” starring tokiwa takako. shit, i got hooked. the first time i seen tokiwa takako on tv, i almost melted. i’m the kind of person that doesn’t get star struck. and i don’t care about famous people but when i seen her on that drama, oh my gosh!!! i don’t know if it was her looks? or the character she played in that drama? i don’t know what it was and still don’t. but i got hooked on that drama and she’s been my all time favorite actress since then, including american actresses. if i seen her in person, i would melt. seriously….

this is years later and she still has that look. that look that i don’t even know how to explain… if you watched that drama, you would know what i’m talking about…
**”Aishiteru To Itte Kure” in english means “Say you love me”… she would say that to the guy she liked over and over in the drama. and back then, i was like, ok, i will…. haha….
**oh my gosh, i went on youtube and found the whole drama on there. yeah!! i’m going to lock myself in my room and watch all of it… check out one of my favorite clips. gosh, tokiwa takako is the bomb…. good night….

Underground Grinds in Shonan…

good morning. 7am on this rainy aloha friday here in japan. been on the internet all night searching for some waves. need to take a surf trip soon but want to go somewhere different. somewhere i haven’t been before. found a few places but the waves are a little fickle. can score, or not score. it’s a gamble and i’m not sure if i’m willing to take it this time. i want to go on a boat and surf my brains out. and dive my brains out too. mentawai is the best place in the world for that but spending thousands of dollars for a dream boat trip and pulling up to macaroni’s with 10 other boats is not a dream. it’s a nightmare…. anyway, i sent some emails out last night and hopefully get something going for this summer. and if your a hardcore surfer out there that has a spot open on your next dream trip, send me an email. i’m there…. haha…. anyway, putting on my rain jacket and going out… have a nice wet day….
**i tell you man, the food i’ve been eating is just awesome. new places, old places, fresh faces. just amazing food…. and every time i eat out in japan, i always wonder why we don’t have these kind of restaurants in hawaii. let me tell you, if we did, there would be long lines every single night…. guarantee….

a couple of the boys from hiroshima opened up this hiroshima style okonomiyaki near chigasaki station called “Anan”. i went there about 7 years ago and still go there now. good food, good people, and most important, good vibe… thanks guys…

some aloha from hiroshima….. best okonomiyaki up this side by far. find out how to get there by CLICKING HERE….

and speaking of hiroshima. naoka on the right is from there. a few days ago, naoka cooked us some oishi seafood pasta for lunch. all this time i’ve known naoka, i had no idea he could cook. so now i know. can’t wait for our next lunch. thanks naoka… matsuo and i were saying to each other that naoka’s pasta is better than most restaurants….

then another night, matsuo, akko, akazawa-san, and i went to this chinese restaurant near fujisawa station. real chinese owner and workers, and real chinese food. gosh, it was so good…

mabo tofu on noodles. oh my gosh…..

and this is my favorite, paigohan. pour some vinegar all over and it’s good to go. so good…..

and not to change the subject or anything, but check out this photo my friend sheldon young sent me. he told me that this girl wants to go out on a date with me. just joking…. but imagine this being your girlfriend and you got her pissed off? itai…..
**and don’t forget to watch ER tonight on tv. my cousin wrote the script. somebody please tape it for me… doomo arigato…
