the winds are super strong out of the south/east. went to look at diamond head yesterday evening and it looked super stormy but surfable. today is the same wind so it will be challenging to find a good spot. it’s going to be a lot of paddling and a lot of duck diving to find the perfect wave. see you out there!

there is a huge toy boom for kids in hawaii right now. i went to kahala mall to check out what the hype was. thinker things has all the latest fads in toys and if you want to find the most up to date toy for your kid, this is the place to go.

the Kendama is the most popular toy for kids in hawaii now. every kid has one or wants one. they range from $25 to $250. these things originated in japan and now it’s sweeping hawaii.

these are the cheap ones at $27. i swear i seen these in the 100 yen shops in japan. why so expensive here?

anyway, here is the one i bought. i tried it and got so frustrated that i already gave up. haha. but the cool things about the kendama is the kids love it and i love when kids play with old school toys rather than video games or on their iphones. back to the basics.
