North shore down to chest high. Clean. Sunset Pro Finals day ON!
Ala Moana knee high and good now but strong onshore winds coming.
Diamond Head waist high and best in town.
South/East winds at 25mph coming today.
Rainy and dark day.
Going to the sea.

ラリー・ヘインズが亡くなったという知らせを聞いたとき、大きな衝撃を受けた。彼にはエディ・アイカウとパイプライン・プロで会ったばかり。世界中の人たちが観る最高のビデオを撮影するため、いつものようにジェットスキーの後ろに乗り仕事をしていた。35年前に出会った頃と変わらずに健康的で、しあわせそうだった。世界で最もハッピーな人の一人だった。パイプライン・プロの数日後、ラリーはラニアケアへサーフィンしに行き、車へ戻ったときに心臓発作を起こし、亡くなったそうだ。サーフィン業界のみんなには、本当にショックだった！

ラリーはその日GoProを持っていて、これが人生最後の写真となった。ラリーの笑顔とストークを見たら、心のなかに大きく温かいものを感じた。彼は好きなことを仕事にしていたんだと。みんなが素晴らしいラリーのことを恋しく思うだろう。Thank you for the surf trips, for the video clips, for the laughter, and for the stoke untill the very end.  Until we meet again Brother…
