good sunday evening… surf, surf, surf…. yeah, everybody go surf….

pulled up to kewalo’s this morning with jun jo. there was a full on photo shoot going on. like 10 pro surfers, 3 photographers, and a lot of local surfers. sat back and fired away…. this guy was busting some pretty big airs….

photographer eric baseman was out shooting jessie merle jones. eric takes some of the best fish eye photos out there. and is also a really cool guy too…

i took so many good photos of nick mita last year and this year. this is like a throw away photo. still nice but got much nicer ones. if this was me, it would be a keeper….

kazuya sato is from chigasaki, japan. super cool soul surfer. went on a trip to the philippines with him and he was smiling the whole time…. oh, see that yellow camera? that’s u-ske. yeah, u-ske is on a photo assignment here in hawaii and is probably getting some sick shots. u-ske is another top fish eye photographers in the world. and also a cool guy….

jun jo rips. that’s all i have to say about jun. once again, check out u-ske getting the sick shot… can’t wait to see his photos in some magazine in japan…

jason shibata is another cool guy. known jason since he was a grom. watched him grow into one international household name….

minetou ushikoshi rips too. he was jpsa grand champion a few years ago. i was surprised to see him in hawaii today. well, everybody was. ushikoshi’s a pretty cool guy too.
**been saying that everybody’s a cool guy yeah? i guess i only hang around cool guys… i don’t hang around assholes. and i don’t shoot assholes either… so every photo you see on go-naminori are cool people…. now i’m going to put on my shades and act like a cool guy too… see ya… haha…

good morning. 6am sunday morning. small swell rolling into town. nothing big but looks good enough for me. chest/shoulder high at bowls and the park with pretty clean conditions. 8 guys out at rockpiles, 25 out at bowls, and more at the park. going to jump on the boat and search for the best spot today. then come back in to check out the rokkasho documentary at 2. busy, busy, busy… but loving every minute of it… have a nice day..
**oh, wanted to congratulate my nephew isaiah moniz for getting 2nd place at the t & c air show at queen’s yesterday. he won $750… 13 years old and winning that kind of money? i asked him what he was going to do with all that money. his answer, “spend it”…

went to snappers to watch russ and ciara play live. gosh, their getting better and better each time i see them…..

first there were 2, then there were 3, then there were 4. it was pretty dam awesome. good friends and good music. can’t beat that…

i was wondering when i seen the helicopters hovering over waikiki friday afternoon. then yesterday morning when i was shooting queen’s, i seen them again along with the coast guard searching for a body. the body of world renown photographer Sergio Goes. he was free diving off waikiki and went missing at 3:40pm friday afternoon. they found his body yesterday. such sad news for such an awesome photographer. if you don’t know who Sergio was, check out his website by CLICKING HERE…. what a tragic loss….

good evening. heard my nephew isaiah was in the T&C Grom contest AirShow at queen’s so i was down there. the waves were going off. perfect queen’s for the groms. check out some photos and a gallery coming soon….

i love this photo. check out the determination of the kid in the fronts face. check his eyes… reminds me of me when i was a grom. and i sometimes still look like that when i’m taking off at backdoor… haha…

kalani david, ezekial lau, keanu asing, and isaiah moniz was in the air show. $1,000 prize money for best air. in that heat, isaiah got it for sure. but uncle missed that photo.. sorry.. this is overall winner kalani david getting ready to launch…

keanu asing rips. this kid got a pretty good future ahead of him. he and my other nephew micah jumped on a plane and headed to tahiti today for 2 weeks. they are going to come back as, MEN…..

even though there aren’t too many japanese tourist these days, hawaii is still a favorite tourist destination. just ask all these europeans on the beach this morning… paradise baby…

and i saved the best photo for last. check out this kid doing the kelly slater rail grab cutback. even looks better than kelly slater and this kids probably only 10 years old. shit, i can’t even do that. future fin ad? o’neill ad? pyzel ad? t&c contest ad? surfer cover shot? best grom photo ever? all possible. i just did a close up cropped and this photo is nuts… crazy nuts…
**hey, if you missed the documentary “Rokkasho Rhapsody” today, better not miss it tomorrow. got this email from ryo. ryo has been pushing the documentary in hawaii for the past month and if it wasn’t for him, we probably would never see it. they had a special on KGMB9 news last night and now i know more on what’s happening. up until now, everything was explained to me in japanese so i missed important points. after watching the news, i know more on what’s happening and more of what has to be done. things like this happen far away but will affect the whole world. so once again, no excuses. see you at the UH tomorrow at 2pm for the showing. it’s time to know the truth….
