Hawaii Surf Trip Day 2

After a very long day yesterday, we decided to do the exact same thing today.  We knew the waves were going to be good, the weather good, and the water clean.  And yes, today turned out to be a carbon copy of yesterday.

Chest high perfect lefts and only us out.  Sorry no photos.

The girls were super happy to have a spot all themselves again.  I was coaching them from the boat and they were taking turns riding wave after wave.

A smile says everything.  This is what it looks like after a dream session.

Then we went back to our spot to spear more fish.  Each and every time, the girls are getting better and better.

Staying down longer and looking a lot more comfortable.

And coming up with the best fried fish in Hawaii, the KOLE!

It’s pretty cool to encourage more women into becoming Amasan!

I just got a text which read “can we go diving again tomorrow?”  I was too tired to reply so I didn’t.  Haha.

Surf, Dolphin Swim, Fried Kole, Poke Squid, and Waterwomen!

Today we decided to take a full day on the boat looking for surf and clean water.  It didn’t take too long to find both.

I pulled up to a spot I haven’t surfed in 30 years, told the girls to go figure out how to surf it.  They worked together and ended up having a great time.  Perfect chest high waves and nobody around.  All I could hear was their laughter after each wave.

Since the water was crystal clear, we decided to spearfish.  These girls could barely swim when I first met them.  Now they are so connected to the ocean that they can do anything ocean related.

It’s so rewarding to see the progress.  These girls transformed into Waterwomen!

This is the best eating fried fish in Hawaii.  An island favorite!

It’s illegal to swim with dolphins, but it’s not illegal if dolphins swim with you.  We were diving and all of a sudden this pod of dolphins swam right up to us.  It was an amazing moment!  I looked into their eyes and they were so happy.  Both the girls and the dolphins.

The girls can free dive and spear fish.  And they both feel more connected to the ocean than ever.  I was so proud of them today!

*we also got tako and some beautiful shells!
