New Foilers Wanted

warm weather, warm water, perfect waves, white sand beach, blue sky, slow life, and lots of aloha. welcome to Hawaii…

Asayama-san has the coolest t-shirt ever!

i love the guy carrying the fish like a surfboard. it reminds me of myself. haha.

garlic chicken and panang curry for lunch. can’t beat it.

of all the people i know who foil, Micah has the best style. i’m trying to copy his style but it’s not easy. how can you be so relaxed like this???

when i take off on a big wave like yesterday, my board is going so fast that i feel like it’s going to take off like an airplane. so i’m holding on for my dear life!

but i like speed so when i’m flying, i want to turn the foil to go even faster. this is when i’m seriously flying so fast that the wind hurts my eyes. and then my board starts to go out of control so i press the eject button. i push on my front foot making the boards nose go into the water. this is the safest way to fall.

and omg, it hurts! feels like Mike Tyson slapped the side of my head. my ears are still ringing.

i teach people to get back up if they fall. so that’s exactly what i do. and when you can complete a perfect ride right after, it’s the ultimate feeling…

ok, i finally got a good foil board to learn on. i also have full suits, and this helmet. so if you want to learn how to foil safely, i can help you experience the best feeling in the world…

Little Precious Moments

so stoked to be surfing with my friends. paddled out with Asayama-san, Maki-san, and Carter this morning for our Bowls session. it was awesome!

yes, the fish are still in the inside. so cool.

today, we went to the main peak again and our goal was to catch the biggest waves possible. every drop was super steep but Asayama-san made it all!

it’s crazy how far this man has come. from being scared by waist high waves, to absolute no fear on double overhead waves? that’s amazing.

i’m always watching over him. i’m making sure he paddled out the right way, i’m making sure his leash didn’t break, and i’m making sure everything is ok. so when i get the OK sign, everything is OK! good job Asayama-san!

Carter had the best off the lip of the day out there. watch this sequence.

this his how you want to smash the lip.

and this is how you want your board to come out from behind. all three fins will follow.

and this spray from his board is 8′ high. that’s power surfing!

went foiling at 12 noon, the hottest time of the day.

and spent some family time on the beach with my lovely little grand niece.

so stoked that Micah lives next door to me now. i get to enjoy the little perks of hanging out with him and the kids 5x more than before.

and we get to spend so much quality time in the ocean these days. riding swells together and sharing the moment. all little precious moments for me…
