omg, did you see the NASA Challenger documentary on Netflix??? OMG, i watched it and i had the chills. it brought back so many memories. i was sitting in a small parking booth in Waikiki because that was my full time job after high school. a tourist passed by my booth and said “OMG, the Challenger exploded!!!” soon after that, i saw people walking around crying and so sad. and when i got home and watched the news, i was so crying and sad too!
Astronaut Ellison Onizuka was a 3rd generation Japanese/American living his dream. the first Japanese to go to space and was a role model for us Japanese living in Hawaii. he was in the Challenger when it exploded and everybody in Hawaii was very sad for a very long time. and watching this documentary brought back all those sad memories. i didn’t know the whole story on what happened, but now i do. and i’m even more sad because it could have been prevented…
