yesterday we had Maui Mike’s chicken for lunch. unlike KFC and Costco, these chickens don’t have steroids or other unnatural chemicals injected into their bodies.
so yeah, very healthy and very juicy!
stoked Rikita-san liked it!
then we went to my favorite bakery on the island. no tourists and no attitude. just local style kind of hawaii.
omg, these snow puffs are my favorite! so good!
then went to Aloha Lemonade on the way back to town. first time for both of us so i was looking forward to my first refreshing sip.
i like when local people come up with such great concept stores like this. and yes, i’ve been supporting local businesses big time recently. i hope you will too.
you can even get your freshly squeezed lemonade served into these jars. then go back and get a refill anytime for a cheaper price. good way to save the earth.
made locally. and if you don’t like it, they will make you a new one. i loved mine!
still making the worlds top news is Kelly Slater’s comments about killing sharks. i bet you a million bucks he’s regretting this one. it’s amazing how much instagram can get you into trouble these days.
speaking of trouble, i was watching this family playing on the beach in front of pipeline. the waves were big and the currents were strong. i had one hand in my pocket to get ready to take my keys and money out and put it on the table. had my other hand on my tshirt getting ready to take it off. then i just waited for a big wave to sweep these clueless tourists off the beach into the ocean. 3 kids playing with mom while she had a newborn baby strapped to her chest.
usually i would go down to the beach and tell families like this “please don’t go close to the ocean. there are dangerous shore break waves and strong currents.” but too many times people ignore me, think i’m bothering them, or even get mad. so now days, i just sit back and watch till that moment comes. because it comes more than you think. and it comes when you don’t expect it. how do i know? because i got swept off the beach at Waimea Bay when i was 6 years old. my mom jumped in to try to save me and we both almost died. thank god for the surfer who saved us both.
then the lifeguard comes by and tells them to get out of the shore break. right in time because look at that big wave making its way to the beach. hey guys, this happens all the time! and people die like this all the time! please be safe, and please be smart with you babies.
