i went to clean up some things in Japan and found something i totally forgot about. 20 years ago, i custom made these skateboards. when i was a kid, i use make my own boards so i made these because i wanted to use it to get around Japan. instead of walking everywhere, i would put one in my backpack and skate to stations and stuff because i didn’t like to walk. and i didn’t have enough money for a taxi. so i build 3 of these and i just found the other 2.
i went to the local hardware store, bought wood, came home, cut it with a saw, and shaped the rails and tail. then i stained the wood, put on grip tape, drilled holes for the trucks, and put it together.
i did this 20 years ago these boards look practically brand new. i have one in my backpack now and will take it back to Hawaii. the other one, i’ll probably give it away to somebody who wants it. it’s a classic for sure…
