Passport Time….

good morning. well, it’s been 18 days since i haven’t been able to surf or dive. the longest dry “out of the water” streak in my surfing career. and i still have 14 more days until i can grab a surfboard or spear gun and do what i love to do. luckily the waves have been terrible here. well, not terrible, but not up to hawaii’s north shore season standards. the winds are still strong and there are only small swells heading our way. my doctor gave me the ok to fly on an airplane so that’s what i’m going to do. i got my camera, suitcase, and passport ready to go back to work. my flight leaves at 1pm and i’m freakin excited to go back to travel again. i’m backed up again on my emails so please be patient. but wanted to thank everyone for their support.
as for the earrings, i’ve decided who to give them too and although it was a hard decision, i think i made the right one. thanks to all of you who sent emails. i wish i had 30 pairs so i can give all of you one. i’ll post the wishing bracelet soon so stay tuned. anyway, have a great day and see you back when my airplane lands. “Boku ga Umareta, Konno shima no sora o”[:????$B”L(B?:][:????$B”L(B?:][:????$B”L(B?:]

when i first started out free diving in high school, i didn’t have any money so i couldn’t buy any good equipment. i just borrowed from friends. now that i’m super into the sport, i have to have everything. for surfing, i have a board for any condition and any size of wave. and for diving, i have a gun for any kind of condition and any size of fish. but my guns are all on the small side. i like to bring the fish in really close before i take the kill shot. but if i miss the brain on a big fish, goodbye gun!!

i finally opened my suitcase to start taking things out. i came across this envelope. i was wondering what it was??? oh my gosh!! i remembered getting this envelope at my hotel in okinawa that was sent to me. i just stuck it in my suitcase and totally forgot about it. junior sent me his “A-Flame Photo Slideshow” DVD. i can’t wait to see it. thanks so much junior!!!
**oh, the waves came up all over today. a medium size north swell in the county. laniakea looks 4′. town has waves too. bowls is chest high with only 5 guys out. it’s 6;30am so get on it before the winds pick up again. chau…

Honu-ya Ramen in Akita…

good evening. nothing to talk about today except for the windy wind blowing all day. but the sun was out so it was nice. went for a doggie swim and it felt refreshing. bought some new goggles so i’m on standby mode now…. have a great evening…

i’ve been chatting back and forth with masato-san who owns a surf shop/ramen shop combination in akita-ken. we’ve been talking about ramen, surf, and other things. if your wondering, it’s been my long time dream to someday open a ramen shop here in hawaii. i traveled all over japan and tasted the best of the best ramen. and there is nothing close in hawaii to the authentic ramen made in japan. once i finish up my traveling duties, i will probably open up a small ramen shop somewhere in hawaii. not to make money, but to make people over here happy. i feel like it’s my duty to share the best of the best of ramen to the people of hawaii. and to show them what they have been missing out. when my japanese friends come to hawaii in search of good ramen, i don’t have an answer. i just take them to eat vietnamese pho. so masato-san of honu-ya ramen in akita-ken, my dream is to go and try your delicious ramen someday. even though it takes 8 hours to get there from tokyo, i’ll find a way. i know your dream, you know mine. let’s make it happen!!!

this is masato-san’s surf shop that is next door to his ramen shop. it’s called Lanui.
**if you want the coordinates to the surf/ramen shop, go to google map and type in cordinates: 39.714559,140.137947
