good evening. what a nice day it was on the north shore. small waves but super clean. the waves in the morning were head high but by this evening, it dropped to knee high. they want to finish up the contest at haleiwa tomorrow so hope the swell comes while we’re sleeping. oh, big rain storm on the way too. i took some cool photos today. hopefully i can download them in time to show you some. if not late tonight, tomorrow for sure….

after nao arrived this morning, she told me that she wanted to surf. so surf is what we did. 2 sessions. one at off the wall, and one at rocky point.

there were so many jelly fish out at off the wall this morning. kelia got hit the worst. her arm was trashed…. kawaiso….

after kelia got stung by the jellyfish, i told her to get her ass back out there and work. this is kelia at work. gosh, it’s so cool to see everybody’s surfing getting better and better every time i surf with them. i’m stoked for these kids…
we surfed rocky point in the evening and the waves were dropping pretty fast. but don’t worry, i just checked the buoy and it’s coming right back up. tomorrow heavy rain with epic conditions. more photos tomorrow and full gallery coming up in a couple of days. good night….[:Zzz:][:Zzz:]

good morning. 6:45am and got some good news. there’s a little swell in town. waist/chest high sets at bowls with perfect conditions. got a few guys on it already. 10 guys out at the park. looks like a soft week swell but it’s better than nothing. north shore came down. 2-3′ and the sandbars should be fun. 25 guys at lani’s already. small fun clean surf day today. i’m going to the airport to pick up nao-chan, then go surf the north shore. have a nice day…

these are the photos from the tiger shark attacking the turtle outside of hawaii kai. gosh, i dive out there so many times and haven’t seen a tiger shark out there before. but now i know their out there. scary…

a new kelly slater book? wow, already? i read his last book “pipe dreams” while i was on a boat in the philippines. i thought it was pretty good because it gave kelly a personality. he’s human and has been through things in life that many people go through. but to pull off 8 world titles in the meanwhile, that’s crazy. and crazy is kelly. i’d predict he’d quit at 10 world titles. or maybe more. this guy is unstoppable and probably the only 2x retiree that is still way ahead of the competition….
if you guys didn’t get a chance to read his first book. you should before you read his new one. and for you japanese, now they have it translated in japanese so read it and maybe you can become 8 time world champion too…. but just to let you know, it didn’t work for me.. haha…
