good morning. yesterday was my first day off since december so what do i do? go out and enjoy hawaii like a tourist!!!

i pick the nicest hotel in waikiki, i grab my camera and towel and soak up the sun!!! usually locals get kicked out of waikiki pools but yesterday, i wasn’t local, i was a japanese tourist. i couldn’t even speak english. haha…

see the first chair closest to me? that was mine. i couldn’t believe how beautiful hawaii was. and still can’t….

it’s so good to see tourist like me enjoying waikiki. these 2 girls were laughing and playing in the sandbar. imagine coming from cold japan to this? no wonder hawaii is so popular….

teaching kids how to surf is my favorite. i’ll do it on my day off, i’ll do it instead of taking a nap, and i’ll do it no matter how busy i am. just to see their smile makes every effort worth it. to me, photos like this are priceless. this is my friend brandon’s daughter marissa. what a cutie…

after watching channel 7 guy hagi’s weather report last week and seen kelia’s photos, this little 8 year girl was inspired. inspired to surf and be like kelia moniz. it’s amazing the power kelia moniz has on kids….
anyway, it’s pouring rain outside my ho use. north shore is 15′ and junky. town is small, almost flat. after the best winter season in the history of surfing on the north shore, i’d have to say this is the worst spring ever. the waves have been junky. ahhhh…. oh well, i guess it’s time to put all my north shore boards away and get out my 6’0’s that i’ll be using till october. anyway, have a nice day!!!

now that i’m starting to load up my surfboard bag for upcoming travels, i have to choose from my selection of spear guns. which ones should i take? i need 2 where ever i go so if something happens to one of them, i have a back up. so yesterday i jumped in the water to test all of them out. and guess what? they all worked really good. now i’m more confused….
as for my surfboards, i travel with a 6’0 and a 6’4. i have so many good boards too that i don’t know which ones to take either. now i’m more confused…. but you know what? this is a good confused i guess…

yesterday was such an awesome day out on the west side from sunrise to sunset. i was so tired and i’m glad i didn’t fall asleep while driving back to town….

i took this photo last week and guess what? i don’t remember where it was. i keep on looking and looking and can’t figure it out. do you know where this is??? help!!! my mind is so confused….

this will clear anyones mind. this is a photo of the sunset from inamura overlooking mt. fuji. i actually almost froze to death standing at this very same place on a cold winter day waiting to take a photo like this. yes, it’s that magical and if you ever been at this same spot, you will know what i’m talking about. thank you kumiko-san for sending me this awesome photo. i sent the photos of you and kelia today so hope you get it!!! and your email about “Circle of Friends” was awesome!!! thanks so much….
