sometimes my camera can’t focus because it’s too dark when we paddle out.  but you can imagine how beautiful it is right?

another beautiful morning in paradise.  i was in the water waiting for the call to see if the contest is on today or not.

watching beautiful rides all morning long.  then my sister called and said “the contest is on!”  i caught a wave to the beach on my foil and we headed out to Sunset Beach.

today was finals day and i was hoping Seth Moniz would shine. unfortunately, he didn’t advance.  i was heartbroken again.  i use to compete and i don’t remember me getting so depressed after losing.  so i don’t know why i feel like that when one of my Nephews loses.  but on the bright side, Seth got 2nd at Pipeline and 5th at Sunset.   that puts him at #2 in the World!   now that just brought out a smile!

had an appointment at Diamond Head this evening and i wish i had my surfboard!!!

i don’t remember a Winter like this that’s been looking more like Summer.  there are waves everyday in town, the weather is perfect, and the water is warm.  very strange, but nobody’s complaining…

good to see a Hawaiian Monk Seal sleeping peacefully on the beach.

i walked into an office and saw this article hanging on the wall.  i had to look twice because i thought this was a joke???  this is the previous high rise condos that went up before, going up now, and planned in the near future.  so the Ala Moana area is going to look like Tokyo soon!  OMG!  

these are the buildings on that map of Ala Moana.  add in the buildings in Kakaako and i might throw up.  honestly, i don’t like overdevelopment.  thousands of condos going up with the same narrow streets, and overloaded sewer systems.  one big heavy rainstorm and there will be raw sewage in the streets and ocean.  do you remember how many times Ala Moana park flooded with poop?  it happened before and will for sure happen again!
