Fire and Shark and Seal

another day in Hawaii, and another fire in Hawaii.  guess where this one is?

yes, right in Waikiki.  can you guess the exact location?

the surf racks next to the Moana Surfrider Hotel burns again.  somebody must have dropped in on the wrong person.  more classic surfboards gone forever.  pretty sad…

i went foiling today and when i rode my last wave to the beach,  i saw something very strange.  a huge shadow that i thought was a monk seal swimming in waist high water.  BUT, when i looked again good, it was a huge 8′ shark!  omg, i never seen a shark swimming that close to the beach before.  it was literally 20 years off the beach!

maybe that’s why this monk seal was on the beach?  i was going to tell that little boys parents about the shark but i didn’t want them to panic.  another crazy day in the ocean.  you just never know what you’ll see.  i love it!

Best of Best Times

i’ve spent the greatest times with these kids when we’re on our dive trips.  it’s a time when we all learn about the ocean, and also learn about each other.  i watched Joshua and Seth grow from the very beginning.  i saw the mistakes, frustrations, and then the glory.  all those experiences with them are my precious treasure.  i’ll never forget it.  by the way, i really miss my cute little boat!!!

just love the morning sky turning colors by the minute.

i see the strangest things in the ocean.  and i love every moment like these because this doesn’t happen very often.  so i just sit back and enjoy it…

i’m on the best jet ski, i’m on the best foil, i’m on the best board, i have the best wetsuit, and i’m on the best tow in foil team.  i trained and prepared for this so all i need is to keep calm when i’m going 100mph on a 50′ wave.  haha.
