at 11 years old, Leo is a very intelligent kid.  very calm and very respectful.  i love watching him paddle out like a very confident young man…

it was pure joy watching him ride wave after wave.  we surfed until his arms wouldn’t let him paddle anymore.  haha.

perfect style and concentration.  this is how you’re supposed to surf!

Epic Waikiki Lights…

Good morning 5am.
North shore 4-6′ and stormy.
Ala Moana knee high and good.
Diamond Head waist high and good.
Strong North winds at 25mph.
Sun, clouds, and cool day.
Going to the sea.

i paddled out in the dark, caught 3 amazing long rides, and came in.  my friend said i was only out for 20 minutes.  i told him “i’m completely satisfied!”  then i watched the sunrise and left a happy man…

the winds are switching around a lot these days.  Diamond Head was excellent when i was out.  then the West winds came and it was over…

when you use a boat as much as we do, some places will crack or chip.  just like a surfboard, it’s normal wear and tear.  i have no problem fixing it myself.  the more love i put into Mayuki, the more i get back…

all i need is resin, fiberglass cloth, pigment, and sandpaper.  i just saved a couple hundred bucks…

so happy to see Leo back here in Hawaii.  this kid is super positive, super happy, and super energetic.  we had a blast at Bowls!

after surf, we went to eat our favorite shave ice from Waiola!  happy days…
