World Galaxy in Hawaii

when i was young, nobody taught me how to hunt properly so i just went out and shot anything.  now i know better so i teach the boys properly.  you only can hunt lobsters when it’s in season.  and you don’t spear them because it could be a female with eggs.  so you only can grab them with your hands, then flip them over to check if it’s a female with eggs.  if it is, release her.  if not, let’s eat him!  so yes, the boys know better and it was cool to hear them teaching Benji and Reo the rules.  that made me super happy!

when the stars came out, it was appetizer time.  we caught ika and lobsters so Joshua was making us sashimi.  you won’t get it any more fresh than this.  right from the ocean to your mouth…

it was always a dream for me to watch the kids hunt, watch them clean it, prepare it, and have a beer with them as we eat it together.  so yes, dreams come true…

we turned off all the lights and watched the star show.  it was amazing!  Seth told me “wow, this is like the whole galaxy right in front of our eyes.”  it was breathtaking…

then we turned back on the lights and started fishing for menpachi.  there were literally jumping on the boat.  all you could see in the water was red!  i can’t wait to do this all over again!!!

Picture Taking Time

one of our missions for this trip was to find lobsters.  mission accomplished!  we got lobsters, crabs, fish, ika, and lots of delicious dinners to come!

on the way back, a huge pod of 50 dolphins came by to play with us.  it was so amazing!

Reo with his yellow spot, Joshua with his mu and lobster, Seth with his uhu and uku, and Benji with his mu’s.  these kids ocean skills are getting better and better.  and this trip taught them much more because we did things which were new for them.  but swimming in the pitch dark ocean from 10pm to midnight was the highlight…

as we came in, i noticed the water was dirty and stink again!  omg, did it rain again?

coming from some of the clearest water in the world, then back to dirty water was a little depressing for us.  anyway, getting my foil back out and flying.  see you in the water!
