i wasn’t expecting anything special today but i got something special. i was the first one out in the dark and when the sun started to rise, there was a special sunrise. and for a Sunday, it was very uncrowded and the waves were way better than i thought. so yeah, it was special all the way!
loaded up and headed down to get Mayuki ready for a special trip. i’m so excited!!!
Mt. Fuji in the back, and Matsu in the front. a special mountain and a special guy!
Hawaii has been very good this year. lots of light winds making Diamond Head very special to fly…
check this out! a boat made specially for wake surfing. you can surf an endless wave right behind this boat. imagine foiling it!!! i really want one but i don’t have $600,000 right now. so yeah, this is not so special to me. haha…

Opps: I forgot to post this blog after i spent so much time uploading it. Imagine coming home super sunburnt and tired, then trying to keep my eyes open doing this blog, then forget to post it. haha. that’s the story of my life. but hey, lucky i found it our this would be all lost photos. enjoy.
August 11, 2016:
we paddled out early morning to bowls yesterday. this older lady was trying to catch every single wave in the ocean. then telling the Biwako Boys and i to get out of her way because she thought we were japanese. well, i am japanese but i told her, “slow down, the ocean is for all of us.” then she said “hey, i’m older than you guys and i could die in 20 minutes so let me go.” i told her, “hey, i can die in 1 minute so let’s share.” then she told me “you guys go in.” if you know me, you know i’m not going in. anyway, we stayed out with a bad vibe, then 5 minutes later, guess what happens?
she yells to me “help!” her leash got caught to the reef and she couldn’t get it untangled. she started panicking. five years ago, i wouldn’t have helped her so fast. i would have let her panic a little more. but now, i’m finally an adult. so i swim over, dive down, and untangle her leash from the reef. she said thank you and i said nothing. why? because SILENCE IS GOLDEN! haha.
yesterday i seen a monk seal, turtles, dolphins, and this school of fish. it was nature at its best!
i dove down to see how close i can get to the fish. the school swam away and one came back. such a lucky fish! if i had my spear, i would have had dinner.
i watch the waves all day long and i’m always looking for an opportunity. yesterday afternoon, that opportunity came. i found this little secret spot where only 2 guys were out. they got swept down with the current and it was only us.
Mai-chan surfing up another level. i can’t believe how much energy this girl has! it’s incredible!
when you meet someone for the first time, they are shy. but after 5 days together, the shyness goes away. Mai-chan isn’t so shy anymore. haha.
watch for this girl for the 2020 japan summer olympics!
then went to cool down with some cool shave ice. Mai-chan doesn’t like sweets, but she loved this sweets! good job again girl!
for the past few days, i’ve been checking the weather maps and flight availability. i still have no idea where i’ll end up, but i’ll end up somewhere. won’t know until the morning of my flight out of hawaii. kind of getting excited!
