BBQ and Frying Pan

i love foiling with the big boys because nobody even comes close to us.  i wouldn’t either if i didn’t know these guys.  haha…thank you Chichan for the amazing sunrise over Molokai!  i miss there so much!!!want to say good job to Nakahodo-san and his friend for keeping calm and staying alive.  they were surfing huge waves on an outer island in Okinawa and got into serious trouble.  Nakahodo-san and his friend heard me yelling “relax!  don’t panic!  keep calm!!!!”   they both survived a situation that could have gone terribly wrong.  i’m super proud of you boys for sticking together, keeping calm, and finding a solution.  you basically saved yourselves.  and i’m sure you’re cherishing life much more too…my boat driver put in a request.  she said “can you please catch me a unicorn fish for the bbq?”  so when i saw this one, i made sure i shot it in the perfect place so no meat goes to waste.  hope you enjoy it girl!  as for me, i love deep fried kole!  so we stopped at my secret kole spot and caught some for me and a friend!  it still amazes me how the ocean provides these precious resources.  i’m so thankful for that…

Free Dive and Free Dinner

i’ve been waiting for a day to finally go free diving.  today was the day and i was super excited.  so after my daily routine sunrise foil session at Ala Moana, i went to free dive and try to catch dinner.

the water was really clean and we must have seen about a hundred turtles.  they are loving their freedom without any tourists bothering them.

i took the young boys.  they just started free diving so i they were super excited.  Mia was my driver, probably the best girl boatman in the world.  she’s been my boatman since she was 8 years old.  i’d probably go to jail if the police saw her driving a boat by herself at that young age while i’m underwater.  haha.  but now, she can drive Mayuki better than me…

on my first 3 drops, i caught a fish on each drop.  one Munu, one Kumu, and one Maunakali.  three dinners for me this week!  if i were alone, i would have gone in already.  but the boys didn’t even get started yet so we dove all afternoon.  i’m so tired and probably be sleeping by 6:30pm tonight.  dreaming big!
