Sprout Curby

another high rise fire in Hawaii.  these older building don’t have any fire sprinklers so once the fire starts and the trade winds blow, it will spread pretty fast.  luckily the whole building didn’t burn down…

Waikiki Resort Hotel still closed.

the famous Eggs and Things open but absolutely no customers.

i kind of like Waikiki like this.  it’s so quiet…

ABC Stores open but hardly any sales.  ever since Hawaii reopened to the Japanese tourists, only about 300 tourists came.  why?  because Japanese listen the their government.  and when they go back to Japan, they still have to quarantine for 14 days.  i wouldn’t come either…

supporting local again. this time i went to Sprout Sandwich Shop in Kaimuki.  i ordered the “Fonz” because i love pastrami!

till this day, people still can’t figure out my name right.  Curby?  really?  haha…

Mateus has been doing online schooling at my Mom’s house.  i can hear my Mom screaming and scolding him all day long.  haha.

Super Blue Waikiki!

i think i’m going to start taking more of my students to surf Waikiki.  mostly because this is where surfing was born.  it’s a lot more stress for me because it’s crazy out there and the chance of getting hurt is 10x more than Bowls.  but, it’s a great experience at the same time…

Nanami-san loves Waikiki.  i think the color of the water makes her calmer.  below is sand, unlike reef at Bowls.

Liam can adjust to anything.  this guy just goes with the flow…

Gavin jumped on a bigger board and i thought he might have a hard time.  but i was wrong.  he connected and rode it perfectly.

Mom and Gavin and Diamond Head…

once again, this is the photo i’ve been trying to get for the past 6 years!

thanks guys for the wonderful time in Blue Waikiki.  and thank you to Tony Moniz for letting us borrow your boards!

we were looking forward to eating a fresh acai bowl after we surfed.  so we where so happy walking over there.  BUT, it was closed!!!  OMG!!!

it closes at 2pm!  we were super bummed!  well,  thank goodness there’s always tomorrow…

HAWAII is always a good idea…

Good morning 4:45am.
North shore waist high and junky.
East side swell coming down.
Ala Moana waist high and good.
Diamond Head shoulder high and bumpy.
Trade winds at 25mph.
Sun, clouds, showers, and huge rainbows.
Going long boarding.
Have a wonderful day!
