there’s been a noise coming from the front of my truck. i don’t have a rack like this at my house so i took it to Lex Brodies for a free estimate. why not right? anyway, one hour later, the guy calls me and says “sir, your truck is seriously broken and is too dangerous to drive. it will cost $2,175 to fix it.” i already knew he was trying to scare me and overcharge me so i told him “it’s ok, i will pick up my truck now.” then he said “you will need to call a tow truck and tow it out of here because it can’t roll.” oh boy, he’s trying to scare me again. so i tell him “put down my truck and i’m going to tow it home.” so i get there, walk to my truck, jump in it, start it up, and simply drive it home. then my brother is a mechanic too so he fixed it for $200. that’s the difference from honesty and dishonesty. it’s very common for mechanics to scare you into fixing things that don’t need to be fixed. i know enough about cars that i won’t be suckered. but i also know a lot of people that would have just paid the $2,175 too. it’s kind of sad that this is happening right here in Hawaii…
10 years ago i would have let my truck problem bother me for days. but now, i’m too busy to be bothered by anything. i run away from negative things, and i just cling to the positive. i have a small group of positive and happy people that i’ve been hanging out with ever since the lockdown. and when we’re together, life is pretty dam good…
Got Mechanic?

Golden Ones…
if i wasn’t for this lockdown, i wouldn’t be exploring this island as much as i’ve been. i can’t leave Oahu so may as well go experience places i’ve never experienced before. from the land or into the ocean, it’s all been so beautiful. a different place each day fulfills my crave for traveling. and what makes it even better is when my friends from Japan can come to Hawaii again, i’m sharing these new places with them. and nobody will complain because there is nobody out. haha…
i was so happy to wake up with a text from Kimura-san in Tohoku. i really miss him and i really miss Tohoku. i can’t wait for the day i can go back and visit everyone. and also watch the golden sunrises like this too.
always happy to see Kimura-san smiling. and always happy to see his daughters growing up into beautiful young women. keep on smiling and hope to see you guys soon. We Are One!
