Opihi Madness…

WCT Update:  i feel sorry for Seth and the WCT surfers.  the whole 2020 year has been cancelled so far and the rest of the schedule is not looking too promising.    with the world still in lockdown, all they can do is think positive and look forward…all i want to do is look for opihi!  outer islands are ok to travel so soon i’m going hunting for these…just was thinking back on our last Molokai trip.  it was one to remember.  diving, fish, deer, lobsters, surfing, and just having a wonderful time with my family and friends.  we shall do this again very soon…Takami-san sent me a message saying “we found opihi!”  i replied “what?  really?  where?”  she didn’t reply back.  i guess i’m not the only one keeping secrets.  haha…

June 18, 2020 Hawaii Surf Report

Only a surfer knows the golden feeling…

Good morning 5am.

Ala Moana chest high and good.

Diamond Head head high and getting better.

Lighter trade winds at 15mph.

Sunny and warm.

Going surfing.

Have a wonderful day!

Mahalo and Stay Safe

another perfect day in paradise.  waited until the tide came up, the sun came out, and the morning crew went in.  surfed a spot with absolutely nobody out!  sorry can’t tell you where…so good to see the kids back in the sailing program.  i think this is the best way for a kid to connect with the ocean, wind, and partner.  i would recommend this to any kid in this world…felt like surfing today so got out my magic AIPA.  lots of cutbacks and off the lips on the menu!  good to see local businesses following the guidelines.  i feel pretty safe in Hawaii.  as of now, we are still closed to tourists until July 31st.  after that, nobody knows.  so yes, i will enjoy another 45 days of vacation to the fullest.  i do miss my friends, but i also do love this life of freedom.  mahalo and stay safe!
