Deep Asia: Luang Prabang

went to foil Diamond Head this morning and had a great time.  thank you.  then went back this evening to check it out and there were 70 surfers out.  no thank you.  tomorrow will be the last day of nice morning conditions.  then the trade winds will be coming back…

digging through old photos.  here is one of the days i took the kids surfing at Bowls.  threw them in the back of the truck and had a blast.  Joshua, Seth, Gen, Shun, and Mia.  great memories…

another great memory was seeing Seth’s poster on the Billabong Store when he was just a little kid.  i guess Billabong knew he would be a superstar someday too…

another great memory was having parties in Hawaii with close friends.  Tomoka-chan, Kimura-san, and Takahashi-san parting at the Go-Naminori party at the Ilikai Penthouse.

and another great memory was backpacking to Luang Prabang in Laos.  i’d still have to say that was one of my top 3 backpacking destinations of the world.  i would just walk around and absorb the culture.  it was something i’ve never seen in any other country…

Tradition…

omg, i forgot to push the “publish” button so this one didn’t post.  oh well, it’s never to late…

i’ve been going to Japan for the past 30 years and never spent New Years day there.  it’s always been my dream because i want to eat good food like this!  this is Niwa style! and each meal gets an abalone!  hopefully next year i can experience this…so cool seeing Nao-san enjoying the New Years upside down.  haha…and cheers to everybody at Rise and Shine!i always want to try something new.  and since i’m not a craftsman like Gen, i just the artist do his work…i’m customizing my foil so it will be faster, looser, and wilder.  can’t wait to try it when Gen is done… Kaira told her Daddy “i want to go surfing!”  so Daddy took her to Waikiki and before she even caught her first wave, she said “Daddy, i want to go home.”  haha.  Daddy is nice so he took her home.  if it were me, she ain’t coming home until she catches 10 waves.  haha…it’s snack time!  thank you Koguma-san!
