A day in Hawaii…

Good morning 6am.

North shore 2-4′ from the North.  Junky conditions.

Trade winds at 15mph.

it started off as a very beautiful day in paradise.  i just took out Mayuki for her first ride of the year.  then a little while later, i saw something unusual.  Diamond Head on fire?  what?  i looked closer and noticed that houses were burning!  when you see fire like this, it’s scary.  then you could hear all the police/ambulance/firemen sirens echoing from the mountain to the ocean.  i couldn’t understand what was going on, but i knew it was very serious.then i come home and watch the news.  a 69 year old man stabbed a lady, shot and killed 2 police officers, and burnt his house which lead to 7 multi-million dollar houses burnt to the ground.  this is Diamond Head and things like this aren’t supposed to happen there.  i was watching the news feeling depressed.  feeling so sad that our once paradise island is becoming like a Third World country.  a very sad day in paradise.  today was the kind of day you wish you woke up and it was just a bad dream…
