went to check up on Renta-kun to see how his Hawaii lifestyle is going. he didn’t know i was there until i said “hey Renta!”
he was surprised to see me. and so was everybody else. haha. i bet his friends were thinking “who is that loud guy?” haha…
after his paddling practice, we went surfing! i put him on a smaller board and he adapted instantly.
gosh, the waves were so beautiful!!! we scored!
like always, we have good conversations. and we’re laughing most of the time. Renta just told me “why are all those people waiting for the waves way on the outside? the waves don’t even break there!” haha. i told him, that’s where you use to wait too before. haha….
calm and cool. this is how you’re supposed to surf.
i was going to foil but after the offshore winds were creating barrels, i took my shortboard and got barreled. it was an easy choice!
gosh, i just love this kid…
this boy is going to grow up into something special. athlete? business man? surfer? i don’t know yet, but he’s going to be something special…
A Renta Day…
January 21, 2020 Hawaii Surf Report
Summer again? Welcome back blue sky, blue water, and perfect surf!
Good morning 6:20am.
North shore 3-5′ and good. Two bigger swells on the way.
Ala Moana waist high and good.
Diamond Head shoulder high and good.
Light winds so nice conditions.
Sunny and warm.
Going foiling.
Have a wonderful day!
The Calm is Coming…
got up early and went to take care of my baby. last time i paid someone to do it because i was too busy, but this time, i wanted to do it myself. and in the end, nobody can clean Mayuki like how i do. you won’t find a cleaner boat than this in Hawaii.
i was riding bike through Kapiolani park. going 80km flying into the wind at my face. i felt so free!
looking at Diamond Head now, i don’t think it could get any more greener than this. it’s so beautiful!
i use to do yoga here everyday. i’m thinking about starting again…
this is typical trade wind surf Diamond Head. fun, but little challenging. starting tomorrow, the trade winds will be gone for the next few days. so expect epic conditions. that’s where i’ll be!
Bowls likes the trade winds. straight off shore and very clean…
i was out at Bowls today and the weather and surf were perfect! it’s been a long time since it’s been this beautiful so i wasn’t surprised to see 50 surfers out. more perfect waves and weather these next few days so enjoy it!
