December 6, 2019 Hawaii Surf Report

Every morning rainbow from my valley…

Good morning 6am.

North shore 2-4′ and coming up from the North.

Ala Moana waist high with bigger sets than yesterday.

Diamond Head chest high and bumpy.

Trade winds at 20mph.

Clouds and rain.  Clearing up later.

Going foiling.

Have a wonderful day!

Cheap Marine Gas @ Kewalo’s…

went down early this morning to finish putting in the new batteries.  it made me feel much better about crossing dangerous channels now.  one less thing to worry about…

then i had to get gas so i wanted to check out the newly opened marine gas stand at Kewalo’s.  much closer and much cheaper too!

the Kewalo Basin Harbor is where all the charter boats go out of.  it’s actually kind of busy there…

put in gas and it was only $378.59!  not too bad, and not too good.  haha.  but now i’m gassed up and ready to go to Molokai again so i’m not complaining!

wanted to catch some dinner on the way in so threw out the anchor, grabbed my speargun, and caught dinner.

i dropped down and waited for all the fish to start coming around me, i spotted out this big Pananu’u kind of far away.  i just waited and waited until i got the shot.  it was 46′ deep and i was down for 1 minute 48 seconds.  my lucky day…

the waves were looking super fun.  tomorrow i’m foiling this wave!

filled up my bucket with fresh fish and tako, then headed home.  this is the kind of lifestyle i want to live when i get older.  healthy, peaceful, and happy….

2011: The Turning Point

i was in Tokyo last week and when i saw this overpass, i had a flashback.  it was almost 9 years ago when i made a split second decision that changed my life forever.  i was in a taxi getting dropped off right under an overpass, right as i opened my door to get out, i was offered an opportunity of a lifetime.  i took it and it turned out to be the best split second decision i’ve ever made in my life…  the next day, i was boarding private jets and was with some of the most elite people in the world.  for the following 2 weeks, we passed through remote islands in Indonesia, through Thailand, Japan, and back to Hawaii.  it was an experience nobody could ever dream of… i learned how to sail, i learned how to go with the flow, i learned how to keep quiet, and i learned that there was a much bigger world than i thought… what happened in those 2 weeks was amazing.  fish, sharks, boat trip, komodo dragons, champagne, and everything was a 5 star experience.  that trip was something i’ve never talked about before because looking back, it was a weird time in my life.  but now, i can finally look at all the photos i took and enjoy those precious memories all over again…
