Hawaiian Sequence

it’s my goal to teach someone to be able to paddle out to any spot in the world and be calm and comfortable.  it doesn’t matter how big or what the conditions are, you just have to adjust to the situation.  pretty easy to do if you’re calm, and impossible to do if you’re not.  Seira-chan is progressing pretty fast in any type of conditions…   gosh, it’s so cool to watch flawless surfing. this is where you want your arms.  and this is how bent you want your knees.  all the power is going to come off the rail if you push with your back foot.    yes, keep both knees bent at all times.  if you over extend it, you will lose speed and power… and the most important thing to remember is to enjoy the ride like this!  i see some surfers trying to kill the wave, but i encourage flowing with it.  a perfect example of how to smile and flow.  good job Seira-chan! on the opposite extreme, local boy Lance Hookano likes to kill the wave.   so if you see him coming at you like this, you better paddle away as fast as you can. Lance is an expert surfer so i trust him 100% that he won’t hit me.  so i just have to stick my camera up and he will adjust his maneuver to get the shot.good ripping Lance.  no smiles here…  haha…

so happy to surf with Michi-san this morning.  we’ve been doing Boot Camp for years and today was graduation day!

started off warming up on some small ones.  then she was ready for the challenge of her life!

took her to the outside and she ended up riding the biggest waves of her life!

and enjoying the ride all the way!  it’s amazing by how simply looking forward can change your life…

yes Michi-san, you were one of the reasons i made this hat.  haha.  i’m just glad it worked!  keep looking forward girl…

Seira-chan was out at Bowls all morning surfing super smooth and progressive…

in the afternoon, i went back out with my foil and camera.

perfect because Nao-san is back.  again?  haha.  yup, this girl loves surfing, and this girl loves Hawaii!  i took off behind with my foil, got this beautiful Diamond Head photo.  then i made my way for a different angle.

yeah, another photo with the sun in the back.  all on just one wave!   thank you for looking forward!  you surfed so good today!

i can’t believe how good Toda-san got in foiling!  he was foiling so good and it made me realize that i better practice more.  because if he gets better than me, i’m going to be pissed!  haha…

we enjoyed the empty lineup.  riding waves and making memories…

welcome back to Hawaii Nao-san, Toda-san, and Takami-san!  see you guys in the water everyday!
