wow, paddled out to bowls around 11am and scored. super low tide but the waves still perfect. not too many people out and just enjoyed the time surfing with my friend Amy. if i didn’t get hungry for lunch, i would have stayed out all day long.

had a great time feeding the ducks near my sisters house this evening. i grew up playing in this neighborhood when i was a kid. in fact, i was only 12 years old and had a job delivering newspaper to the houses around here. rode my bicycle to deliver the sunday morning newspaper at 5am. then once a month i use to go door to door collecting the money and soliciting new subscribers. that was my first job and i have been working hard ever since.

i wonder if you can eat these ducks? would it taste like a peking duck?

i was almost going to grab a baby duck and take it home. i thought it would be cool to have some duck eggs mixed in with some chicken eggs. but then again, don’t want to hear “quack quack” every morning.

there are ducks everywhere! even in the canal.

then had an awesome happy birthday dinner for my mom. some quality family time with the family. something i realized is very important for a well balanced quality life.

OMG, i heard there are these custom Edo “Mt. Fuji” Glass that are handmade in japan. i have to get one!!! do you know where i can find one???

when you pour something in the glass, Mt. Fuji lights up. freaking amazing! can’t wait to sip some fine whisky in this fine glass. i might have to fly to japan just to get one of these!
Mt. Fuji Whisky Glass?
Young Surfer: The Smile

gosh, i just love taking kids surfing for the first time in their life. i know that the first time is the most important because they will either love it, or hate it. and i’ll do anything i can to make them love it. the first initial take off is classic because a little kids face don’t lie. look how nervous 12 year old Renta-kun is when he starts to ride his first ever wave.

then once he gets going, the feeling is just too hard to explain. much better than any ride at disneyland. look at his face. so stoked!

then as he’s about to stand up on his own, i’m sure he is thinking to himself “wow, this is fun!”

Renta-kun’s first surf and did it very well. after i took him in, he was waiting on the beach for me and said he wanted to surf again. two sessions for this cool kid!

a smile that i love to see. good job Renta-kun!

then it was Saori-san’s turn. second time surfing and rode it perfectly.

then Oshima-san wanted to surf a big wave so i took him to the outside. some sets were head high but he wanted to try. so stoked watching him ride some super clean big waves.

such a funny and cool guy. thank you Oshima-san. glad you are hooked on surfing! see you again next week for some big waves again!
