isn’t this beautiful? so beautiful that i had to take a photo. this is true japanese sushi style. that piece of fatty tuna going down my throat, then getting washed down with sake. this has to be a dream?

it’s no dream! i’m eating the best and most expensive piece of tuna in the world.

i’m having lots of fun with Team Slovakia. yesterday was day 3 of surfing and a day to remember. it was like a typhoon came through as we pulled up to the beach. i was getting the boards ready as things were flying around and the rain so hard that it was stinging my eyes. seen a couple of friends and they said “kirby, are you really going out?” i said “heck yeah!” then Yan and Martina asked me the same thing. i told them, “hey, we are going to get wet anyway.” and like the true active people they are, they said “that’s true.” so we start paddling out and as we were paddling forward, we were actually going backwards. the wind was so strong onshore that it kept on pushing us back to the beach. nobody in the water as you had to be crazy like us. i could see the waves getting bigger and bigger super fast so i was excited. we got out, surfed for an hour in the most challenging conditions the south shore has to offer, and we all survived. super good rides, and super good experience. Yan wanted more but i told him that was enough before one of us got hurt. it’s days like this i live for. days like this that will toughen up the mind, body, and soul. now next time we surf, it’s going to be way too easy. hey Yan and Martina, i bet you both thought i was crazy to take you surfing. yes i am. but you guys are crazy too for following me. haha. great job as i’m sure you won’t forget this day. rest your muscles and see you in a couple of days.

Hiyori-chan went back to japan today. it was a very sad time for me saying goodbye to her this morning before i left to work. i just said a quick bye and walked away because i didn’t want to cry in front of her. i’ve come to love this girl as much as if she was my own daughter. Hiyori-chan is very respectful, very well mannered, very polite, very kind, and has a great heart. the kind of person you want to be with more and more. everybody loves this girl and if you met her, you would love her too. have a safe trip back to japan Hiyori-chan and please come back as you are always welcome to our home. keep up the positive attitude, and most of all, keep on smiling!

ok, want to hear something crazy? i went surfing this morning with Dr. Kawano-san and his daughter Mako-chan. we surfed, we snorkeled, and we had a great time. waves and weather were perfect size for us! then it was lunch time so i took them to my favorite Teddy’s Burger!
IMG_2699
Mako-chan did a great job in ordering all by herself. i think her confidence level went up a level so now that she knows she can do it, it’s so easy from now. ANYWAY, we sit down and start eating our juicy hamburger. next to us was 5 big UH basketball players eating their hamburgers. i took a bite of my fish burger and heard “errrr, ahhhhh, errrr, rrrraaafff!” and seen one of the tall basketball players vomit all over the table. Dr. Kawano-san had his back to them so he couldn’t see anything, but Mako-chan and i saw everything! OMG, it was so disgusting! i had a bite of my fishburger in my mouth when i seen him vomit streams of hamburger, french fries, and cola all mixed into one stream. he was making loud noises and his vomit was all over the table in front of him, and right next to us. the noise, the smell, i couldn’t take it. i tell friends to please take him outside, but the guy was so sick that he couldn’t walk.

so we decide to go outside, and shortly after, they all came outside and sat on a table next to us. the guy was still making the noises and his friends were just laughing at him. Mako-chan and i were just tripping out on what just happened. she kept on eating her fries and i swear i thought i was going to throw up.
IMG_2700
i felt sick and couldn’t eat any more. after every bite, i felt sicker and sicker as i couldn’t get that image out of my head. we left and headed to eat some shave ice and hopefully forget what just happened. laughing all the way there, i told myself, “i’m never ever going back to eat at teddy’s burger again.” Mako-chan said “me too.”
IMG_2707
we eat shave ice and try to forget what just happened. then the image came up again and we started talking about it again. i’m pretty good at blocking things out of my mind because i always do, but that image was just too fresh. thank goodness Dr. Kawano-san is a Psychiatrist so he treated me and i’m fine now. but i swear i will never eat there again, and i don’t think i can even eat a hamburger again. haha.
then i meet up with Team Slovokia at the beach. right at 1:30pm, there was one of the craziest storms that hit our island. 50mph onshore winds, heavy rain, stormy conditions, and kind of dangerous. nobody was out, but that’s what i like. it’s days like this we have to step up and challenge ourselves, so that’s what we did. that’s another story in a story. going to sleep and will be back bright and early tomorrow morning. got another busy day ahead. goodnight.
