was so stoked to watch my nephew’s heat yesterday. Joshua Moniz is making hawaii so proud. he and Seth are competing in the ASP World Junior contest in Portugal. massive floater that he made! he actually got 2 solid scores of 9.37 and 9.00 in this heat. unbeatable!

you’re a good kid Joshua. i’m so proud of you and how you represent hawaii so well. bring us home the world champion kid!

did some walking around the narrow streets of Ueno. pretty cool.

then i seen a little shop that had my favorite: tonsoku or pigs feet! i love it! so i ordered it and sucked it all up. the funny thing is it was still 9am in the morning. haha.

then i washed down the pigs feet with reimen. pretty dam good.

japan tako is so soft compared to hawaiian tako. and much cheaper too.

i love this shrimp! but after the last 2 times i ate it, my stomach hurt so bad. so i just pass it by.

this was the little stand i ate the pigs feet and reimen early that morning. cool yeah?

the flavors of japan.
i couldn’t believe how many tourists i seen in tokyo this trip. i think tourism in japan is booming because more and more are in the streets. lots of chinese and koreans too. great for the japanese economy. ganbare japan!
Sightseeing Tokyo
Big Fat Natto Pumpkin Head!

i’ve only been gone for 3 days but it felt forever. time really flies by and i’m just glad that i get to experience so many friends in such a short time. precious memories. came home and had a really busy day. just getting things back to normal and first thing of course, check the surf! looked super fun at diamond head.

Yuki-san japanese breakfast with Inaida-san famous miso soup. i woke up to this on my last day and i was a very happy man.

check out this monster natto Yuki-san brought back from Akita. it was so good! and so healthy! thank you for the wonderful japanese morning breakfast.

then we took out for a walk. i never use to like to walk before but i find walking around tokyo really interesting. welcome to Hiro Hills! if you add these multi-million dollar condos up, you could buy half of hawaii. haha.

then we stopped by a new ramen shop that just opened up. famous for its uzukoshio ramen. it was awesome!

i love ramen! omg, i was so happy!

then we went shopping to look for my halloween costume. no, i won’t be a pumpkin head this year.

and i am extremely happy on my new birthday present! yes, it’s the 6! i love it! thank you Inaida-san and Yuki-san for the wonderful 2 days in tokyo, for my wonderful present, and for just being wonderful people. see you in hawaii soon.
