woke up this morning and made the calls to Kyle and Hayato. “hey guys, let’s go dive and surf!” loaded up the spearguns and surfboards and headed out to sea. it was a beautiful day with beautiful waves!

we were looking for diving spots but the water was a little dirty. so instead, we surfed. either or, we are all happy because we love to do both. look how green and beautiful diamond head is!

i ended up taking the boys to my secret spot where i grew up surfing. i paddled out here for my first time when i was 12 years old. and ever since then, nothing has changed. the wave is exactly the same and i know that spot like it’s my backyard. we all caught some unreal waves with only us out. well, then i got a visit from a stranger right after i went back to the boat to eat my sandwich.

i was eating lunch watching Kyle and Hayato ripping. then a baby monk seal came up to me and started playing with me. he tried to come up the dive door like he was looking for something. i threw him a piece of bread but i think he was looking for seafood. then he kept on coming back and back like he was calling me. i had 20 minutes of fun just talking to him and enjoying the great nature we have in hawaii.

then we passed by bowls and there were 35 surfers out and the waves weren’t that good. i guess we scored today. dove, saw turtles, a monk seal, 4 whales, and caught some great waves.
the monk seal was hanging out so long that i took some video of him playing around. it was so cool!

North shore still big at 8-12′. Bumpy conditions but better than the past few days. Sunset beach best.
South shore West swell wrap around continues.
Chest high at Ala Moana and bigger at other spots.
Super clean and perfect conditions on the South shore.
No wind becoming onshore in the afternoon.
Cloudy morning becoming super sunny soon.

there is the Honolulu Festival at the Hawaii Convention Center coming up this weekend. the Chigasaki City will have a booth on saturday and sunday so go down and check it out. Chigasaki is the surf capital of Japan and there are a lot of cool surfers in the government. look for these 3 guys! shaka! thank you Seiji-san for the news.

my family just keeps growing! babies everywhere! and when they cry, what do you do?

ate the amazing Mana Bowl at the Health Cove near diamond head. the best acai bowl in hawaii.
